My dealer mentioned that Porsche did testing on the second generation PCCBs and that after 120,000 km there was no signs of wear what-so-ever...did not clarify if that was both the pads and rotors, or just the rotors.

Before I believe Porsche on that topic, I'd have to see independant 'proofs'. Remember the 1st gen PCCB? At the beginning, Porsche also was saying they'd last for the entire car's life...

I'm sure the new ones are better, but... 120'000km and no sign of wear? What kind of 120'000km? Autobahn?

Maybe that's it....it was 120,000 km on the AB without using the brakes.....

    Re: PCCB

So far so good with my PCCBs on my 06 997S cab. And I am a hard braker.

Someone said that PCCB gives no brake dust and yet they seem to use the same sort of pads? Surely dust comes substantially from the pad not the disk, therfore wheels still get messy?

Well then, how does one explain the general lack of dust from the PCCBs on my '04 996TT cab and the awful grime that collected in less than 50 miles of driving on the wheels of my '01 996TT coupe?

    Experience beats theorising every time

The gray brke dust that is sooo hard to remove from the wheels is indeed from the metal disks. Anyone who works with metal has had this gray on their hands. My Turbo with PCCB never, YES NEVER, gets any build-up on the wheels. And, yes, I drive (brake) it hard on the track.

I have a CCB brake on my Audi. No dust at all. Wonderful

    Re: PCCB

    Thanks for letting me know!
I think PCCB are win win as long as they dont "break" (excuse the pun).

    Re: PCCB

The pads that correspond to the PCCB system are of a different material,--roughly $100 more for a front set than the conventional pads (fitting the black or red calipers).
