That gives me piece of mind, I dont know if I should tell him his may be faulty, cost him a fortune to replace/repair them I guess.
Thanks.

Can anyone tell me if PCCB on turbo makes a greater noise over standard brakes.
I have a friend who has a Mark 2 GT3 and the brakes on it scrape and grind like mad during use around town and this would totally put me off putting them on my car? Thanks in advance!

AUM, The standard TT and GT3 brakes use the 6 piston calipers from the CGT's PCCBm perhaps that is enough stopping power that is also not as costly to replace rotors/pads compared to PCCB.
Obvious that the GT3s brakes either std or Ceramic would last longer than the TT also.

My dealer mentioned that Porsche did testing on the second generation PCCBs and that after 120,000 km there was no signs of wear what-so-ever...did not clarify if that was both the pads and rotors, or just the rotors.

You can take it for granted that he was only referring to the rotors.
The pads use "conventional" friction materials and have to be replaced roughly as frequently as with cast iron rotors.

I'm sure just the rotors, the pads will wear in a similar fashion to conventional. The interesting thing about carbon brake rotors is their life is measured in cycles, normally related to number of pad replacements, and apparently there is no way to measure the wear as you would on conventional ferrous rotors. So the "no signs of wear" comment is a bit misleading.

Anybody know how much a PCCB brake job costs vs. a standard TT brake job?
Not sure, but I've heard about 8-10k.
