WCF Test Drive: Porsche 911 Turbo

    Cool picture:

Re: WCF Test Drive: Porsche 911 Turbo

Temm, I love this statement from the article: "The manual version is 0.2s slower to 60mph, but is so much more intuitive on a winding road that it has to be the one to go for still, though."

Re: WCF Test Drive: Porsche 911 Turbo

Temm, I love this statement from the article: this is the car we would all drive. It really is as simple as that

How's the rest of the article? Any scans, please.

wow... I don't know who the photographer is, but that man is a genius.... every single pic in that article is worthy to be a press pic... great!

    Says who?

I have to say that I agree with that statement. who cares who said it in that particular article, it seems to be the general consensus. Each time I read an article, that's exactly what it says.

That said, I can understand why one would go for the tip. I just hope it's not just for the stupid 0.2 sec.

I guess we're on for another debate on the subject

Well, so there are only two possibilites, I'm wrong or I'm right. Simple.
And the difference between me and the others is: I know how to drive the Tip. Unfortunately it seems that some guys have their cojones at the wrong end...

Re: WCF Test Drive: Porsche 911 Turbo

Tip: it's for lazy people and you know the rest.... (Girlie girl stuff)

What happened to the hairy chest and Chuck Norris ? If only we had Walter R on this board, he could explain everything

Sorry guys, this debate is really tiring. It somehow reminds me of the "Who has the longest di.ck" discussions.

How did the Tubor go from weighing 1585kg to 1660kg? Mind boggling...

Easy. By adding ISO standard allowance of 75 kg for driver and luggage (68 and 7 kg respectively) to the unladen weight of 1585 kg as measured according to German DIN standard, to arrive at the weight of 1660 kg as measured according to the international ISO standard.

Or, they actually weighed it with a full tank of gas.

But thats only math...show me the proof

DIN standard unladen weight includes 90% full fuel tank, plus other operating fluids like coolant, oils, brake fluid.

90% of about 66 liter 997 fuel tank would only weigh about 48 kg.

I'll bet you donuts to dollars the turbo will weigh more than 1600kg without a driver.

68kg for a test driver? Who'd they get Vicki from Fifth Gear?

If you've got a problem with the standard you can follow it up with the ISO (International Organisation for Standardization). You'll find their web site thru Wikipedia or Google, for instance.

Re: WCF Test Drive: Porsche 911 Turbo

"At Euro 110,000 + taxes, it's hard to describe the 911 Turbo as a bargain, but against its more temperamental Italian rivals that can surely only be described as weekend toys,.."

Ah oh, Nick is not going to like this!
