anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

Anyone? let's see which is ppl's favorite?

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

Those wheels are growing on me; especially now that I've seen them in person. They seem to compliment the darker colors very well.

However, I just wish they would have been made with a 20 inch option so that wheel well would be filled in better. I've already decided to go with the Tech Art Formula 20inch wheel...five spoke...looks nice and clean...a company called Wheel Enhancements out of CA does a nice job and they give you some $$$ for the OEM wheels if you want to get rid of them. I've seen the Tech Art wheels on a couple of regular 997's and they look awesome. Not cheesy...but very classy and aggressive looking....I'll be curious to see what everyone else says!

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

how much are you thinking the take off tires and wheels are worth?

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

20's will make your car handle worse. The electronically controlled suspension as well as the suspension geometry has been designed and configured for the size and weight of th OEM 19 inch wheels, I wouldn't mess with that. If you really don't like the wheels, get a set of lightweight 19s. 20s add unsprung weight and are detrimental to ride quality.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

Is there anyway to reconfig. the setup to compliment 20's??

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

    i love the standartd wheels..

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

    Only 2 after-market wheels I like are Champions & TechArt Formula's

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

I think I like the Champions even more than the TechArt's especially w/ PCCB's.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

    wow, those look amazing

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

Are those 20 or 19 inch????? Also, the car looks like it is lowered.....They look GREAT by the way!

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

they look like 20's to me
and the car looks lowered because the wheels actually fill the wheel well...eliminating much of the gap between the tire and wheelwell

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

In the second pic the car IS lowered.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

The perfect 997 wheel has not come out yet .

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

Yes, you definitely want to get rid of those forged BBS wheels ... leaves more OEM track wheels available for the rest of us.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

    Hi guys,

How about HRE C20 or C21?

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

    Here C21

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

I will happily keep mine on the car, I think they are awesome looking wheels.

The OEM wheels are soooooo nice, especially with darker colors.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

The HRE's are a relatively heavy wheel. And, trust me, some of the HRE drop center wheels (like those pictured) have had issues with retaining water, thus causing a terrible imbalance after washing and especially when it rained.
I will bet that you will gain weight over oem with those.
Like others have pointed out; Champion and Kinesis make some nice, light weight products. They are manufactured at the same plant and have similar weights. the nod does go to Kinesis for lowest weight, however.
The 20's obviously add weight and imo don't look right.
By the way, I think the oem wheels look absolutely incredible. I've had so many compliments.

The OEM wheels are forged, look great and not generic like those aftermarket wheels and they also have a BRAKE COOLING function. I don't know why everybody wants to change the wheels right away...

They're 20's. Champions RG5. The wheels are not photoshoped but in the second pic. someone (not champion) lowered the car w/ photoshop.

    http://www.championmotorsport.com/products/wheels.htm

I'm hoping they manufacturer the RS98 in the 20". (at speed all you see is the brake caliper) They probably wont and in that case I might go w/ the RG5 in 20 and putting Winter tires on my stock rims. I've seen the stock turbo wheels in person on the car and no doubt they're sweet lookin. Much better looking than in pics but love the way the turbo looks w/ these wheels too. Maybe they're more appropriate on a turbo cab, imo they would look insane on a turbo cab.

    This pic is not photoshop

Agreed. I love the painted inner wheel lip. It gives the wheels a classy, deep look. (not like they're not deep enough anyway).
The wheels actually look great WITH brake dust. With the painted sections, the dust coating makes them look even more aggressive.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

There's an awesome picture in this months GT Purely Porsche of a spinning turbo wheel.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

Has anyone seen the OEM wheel that has been painted to match the exterior of the car???? It is listed as an option in the TT brochure.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

Those wheels look great on the car the stock wheels look tame .. like a person wearing Dockers nice but a little too politically correct

Because it makes them (the driver) special.

    As in 1+1=11 "special"?

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

guess OEM gonna be winner this time!

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

wish the spokes on the champions were smaller. More of an HRE type of deal.

Re: anyone plan to change their TT wheels? which one?

I plan on getting some forged 1 pc Kinesis wheels
