That thing looks fantastic to me! Very aggressive, and i love how the exhaust exits through the bodywork!!! Very sweet!

I believe Porsche will have a major sucsses with the 997. It will brought up the old 993 Porsche fans again, and the majority of 996 fans will be pleased wit the new lines. I just think it's uncompreesive that the 996 Turbo cab just came out a couple months, and this summer a new modell will show up on the road, even if the 997 cabrio will only come out on 2005 and the 997 Turbo in 2006, I still think it's not the best strategy from an 996 Porsche owner point of view.

Looks like there is a whole lot of engine back there! Hmmm they do have that pepper TT V-8 and the CGT V-10....I wonder?????

My take on the wing.

1) Since they had to house a bigger engine they had to cover it like that and it's not final.
2) Since they're somewhat going retro (993 like) it may have a still wing like the 993TT.

yeah i would bet that the spoiler on the 997 turbo will be a lot more "whale-tail-ish" than the current one, anyways.

As for looks in general, i am hoping that it looks a lot like an evolved 993 Turbo, which was my favourite looking Turbo of all.

It's really funny... when I saw the shots of the 997 turbo they instantly reminded me of the 996 prototype shots which were released in early 99. But take a look for yourself:

We had these pictures before on Rennteam.com, just go through some older threads.

Yes, this 997 Turbo is heavily camouflaged and as some people already said, it uses almost the same camouflage which has been used on the 996 Turbo.

Why throw good things away?

What you can't camouflage is performance. I would hope that the 997 Turbo (or concurrent 996 Turbo) will provide at least 450 hp, else the performance edge of this car is lost. Also essential will be the engine's flexibility, i.e., torque/passing power, on-the-road, not requiring multiple downshifts. This is where large-displacement V8s (or supercharged V8s) will shine. Porsche needs to justify the extraordinary price premium the Turbo demands over the atmospheric engine cars.
