    RC:

The GT2 puts some serious torque on the road, so for the occasional track fun in the hands of the average talented amateur driver, the GT3 RS is definetely the better (and cheaper) choice.

    You talkin' 'bout me?

But seriously, I think that a car like the new GT2 RS is a worse track toy than the GT3 RS or the new GT3. Too much torque can ruin the fun but I guess we only know for sure once the GT2 RS is out.

Sorry, but there is no such thing as too much torque spoiling the fun for a track car....just different driving styles.

Could the next GT2 be inspired directly by the back wing of this year's R ? On the spy shots there are similarities .

This car is in the same team as my brother ' s Cup .

This thread has been dead for too long. Someone over here should know something.  Time to jumpstart it. Found this on RL:

The GT2 is 2 wheel driven. Is not a hybrid. The intake ducts in the hood is directing air downwards (supposedly something is needing additional cooling). The front is packed with coolers and "something else".

Most importantly is how my source facial expression was when he said "You _will_ be surprised"

"We want to be fastest on the ring".

"We are well aware of what our competitors are doing".

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Thread Closed

Well, this was posted on RL by one of our RT members...much more active thread over there.

Anyway, the speculation culminated in the scenario that the engine will be a tri-turbo, including an electric turbo which in turn is powered by supercapacitors lodged in the front requiring additional cooling, hence the air ducts in the front hood.

Maybe this is another proof for: less speculation is better than more... How likely is it they will develop a tri-turbo for the RS Smiley People are out of their minds Smiley

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Thread Closed

...very true, but some folks speculated that this could be a partial precurser of 992 turbo tech show-cased in the 2RS.

Heard similar numbers recently but after they decided to improve performance and specs. Smiley

Taking the Huracan Performante and especially the new 720S into consideration, I think that Porsche knows whats at stake here...

Still not interested in this car, even if it will be the fastest 911 street car Porsche ever built... Smiley

A "960" would be more interesting from my perspective...and this one cannot cost over 300k.

Porsche is learning... CGT was $440k, 918 $680k to $900k and they sold all of them plus they now all trade higher. They will keep jacking prices up on halo models which will pull all prices up in time even for the still "good value" GT models.
