Long Island, Stradale is from there (I think).

The only other car that comes close is the Bentley GT convertible. All wheel drive convertible with 4 seats ...

These are EXACTLY the same two choices that I have been seriously considering for what comes after my present 996TT cab.

Since I already have the Carrera GT as my race emulation ride, I am looking for a sumptuous, yet sporting, cabriolet that I am not afraid to have valet parked. I also would like for the car to provide enough luggage space for a 3 to 7 day road trip with my wife. Occasional seating for my teenage daughters would be a big plus.

The 997TT would seem to be more nimble in tight turns and accelerate better. The Bentley is quite fast in average traffic and whatever it gives up in toss-ability it repays in spades in ride comfort and street style.

    Right now, I'd say I'm 70% Bentley GTC and 30% 997TT Cab.

Time will tell. I missed the look-and-see GTC day held in conjunction with a new showroom opening at my Indianapolis Bentley dealer. I hope to get to drive a finished example sometime this summer whenever Bentley gets around to offering a ride-and-drive similar to the Spur event of last year.

    With your stated preferences, it's 100% GTC - 0% 997TTC

Bentley GT convertible will be quite more expensive, and hard to get especially on LI.

It's going to cost what? $175k ? A 997 turbo cab PCCB's w/ the options I want is going to be around $155 maybe $160.

It would be hard to get on LI for a guy like me that isn't an existing Bentley customer but there's Bentley Long Island & Manhatten Motor Cars. Also Bentley Greenwich. One-third of Bentley's U.S. sales comes from the New York area..A friend of mine is getting one to re-sell. It's really nice btw saw it in April.

The 997 can easily swallow enough luggage for 2 people for 3-7 days between the trunk and rear seats but in the Bentley you'd fit everything in the trunk. Plus the Bentley's rear seating is a lot more comfortable, lots more room. My kids are age 6 and 5 years old so it's not a big deal yet the turbo's rear seats do fine but in another few years don't know how happy they're going to be back there.

SciFrog is probably more correct than I, there's probably a good price difference once you add options to the Bentley, I'm just not familiar w/ the option list but the turbo cab is going to be pretty expensive especially w/ PCCB's. turbo cab PCCB car - Figure $140k without additional options, so $160k +

Dun no, those 2 cars are probably my 2 favorites right now for a convertible. But for my everday car the Bentley is a little too much for my age (38) to be driving it into work everyday. I can just get away with the Porsche without feeling a little strange.

    Re: Color.....

I tell you one thing I'm on my first Porsche an 06 C2Scab. After dreaming of owning one for so long I never thought I would own a cab, and this car gives me such pleasure everytime I drive or everytime I think about driving. There are more luxurious, faster, and forgiving cars out there but there is no substitute!!!

In your case, the Bentley makes more sense. More room, less sporty but beautiful. And for the special days, the CGT. Perfect.

But for most of us who can't get into super territory, I agree 100% with the 997TT cab being the swiss knife of cars right now (manual or tip).

I don't have much info about Bentley's waiting list, but I know first hand that being a prior customer of Bentley LI will help a lot.

Funny how these two cars are also the only ones on my wanted list right now (well except for a 430 maybe but in principle I refuse to get into Ferrari's ponzi scheme, I'll just wait to get one in europe).

Stradale, I think you need to watch the options on the 997TT. If you go too far, it might just be better to get the Bentley, especialy considering your current stable
