Re: GT3 Rear Wing Adjustable?
For the 996 GT3, the '003/'004 Technic Introduction states,
The rear wing can be varied in three positions for running on certain routes...
Later it specifies only two positions:
When the vehicle is driven on racing circuits, the spoiler can be inclined by 4 or 8 degrees through adjustment elements (available as a motorsport part from Porsche Motorsports).
So, is it two or three positions? At what degree angle is the third position? What motorsport parts specifically are needed? And what is the difference in pounds of front/rear/total downforce between the two/three positions?
For the CGT, the 2004 Technic Introduction states:
When the Carrera GT is used on racing circuits, the spoiler wing angle can be tilted up to 6*. For street use that angle is set at 1*, so that when the spoiler wing is retracted, its (sp. mistake) blends in perfectly with the rear fender contours.
The lift stroke of the rear spoiler is 6.6" (160 mm) and requires only approx. 5 sec for complete extension.
