Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?
Not a performante, but a 580 vs 458 race

Perhaps the video is interesting but I couldn't take more than 30 seconds of it...Doubt there is a wall in my place strong enough for that pinup...

From my experience, the Aventador (pre-facelift) isn't as fast as many believe. In the 0-180 kph range, the Huracan/R8 is basically head to head, the Aventador pulls away noticeably starting at around 230 kph or so... Difference is visible but not as much as many believe, which is quite surprising. The new one should be faster...

This is pretty interesting: Why would they make such a video with her? Is she some sort of YouTube celebrity? No, I do not find her attractive at all (as a woman) but I would buy a car from her. Actually, I never really cared about the sales person as long as I felt good and felt welcomed and appreciated (as a customer). Not so sure what this whole fuss is all about though...a lot of hype about...nothing?!

Not sure but if you see the list of fees and taxes you pay in Canada to buy a Lambo definitely you are for a shock. e.g. $10000 air freight ...suffice to say that it is a different market than Europe...
Truth to be told: This woman could never sell a Lamborghini to German customers. I do not say that all of them are intellectuals (most probably aren't) or high maintenance but there is a certain level of decency needed in this business over here. Without excessive make-up and hair coloring, she could succeed though. I won't comment on her weight/style but it could certainly drive away some customers, so maybe this is something she should work on.
Personally, I couldn't care less how a sales person looks. I am at the dealership for a car, not for the sale person. However, it helps if there is a "connection" and mutual sympathy. Helps a lot.

sfo:she is one of the most successful Lambo sales person in Canada
She probably knows how to talk to Canadian customers and how to treat them. Good for her (and the business she is employed with). Like I said before, I don't care about looks. I want to buy a car, not marry her. She sounds like a very nice person though.

Anyone on here interested in a convertible performante?

Why would Lamborghini do that? Just to cash in? A Spyder Performante makes no sense to me, sorry to say that. Especially with that humongous rear wing which is barely acceptable for the Coupe.

As mentioned before, the aerodynamics of a convertible undermines the technologies employed with the new system. A bit disappointed that Lamborghini would make a convertible version of that car.

They could just easily call it Spyder Superleggera or whatever, scratch the ALA (which doesn't really make sense on the Spyder) and offer just the upgraded engine tech and gearbox tweaks, forged composite interior, etc. etc. etc. This would save them money (without ALA, the production would be cheaper) and the car would still sell...I think.

How does a convertible undermine ALA? It still works fine as far as I can tell. ALA involves the front end and the airflow through the wing. It might not be as effective with the top down due to the overall worse aero, but the ALA will still function.
Besides, the best selling version of the Performante will be the Spyder, just like everyone dumped their SV coupe for the SV Roadster. Given the negligible difference in real world usage/performance, people want convertibles more than coupes.

I think what people are trying to say is that ALA on a Spyder kind of undermines the whole concept of the car and I agree with them. This is not about functionality. Porsche could make a GT3 Cab if they wanted to but they don't.

True but this would undermine the reputation of the Performante in my opinion. First, they achieve a world record on the Nordschleife and then they build a Spyder? Doesn't add up for me. Of course the Performante Spyder will sell but Lamborghini's reputation will suffer in my opinion, especially regarding the Performante.

The demand would indicate that the reputation for these is actually excellent. Porsche doesn't make a GT3 Cab because they're dumb IMO. They'd be the best selling GT cars ever. They probably will eventually when they run out of ideas.
R8 GT Spyder
Performante Spyder
675 LT Spider
16M
Aperta
LF Spider
SV Roadster
918
All these cars are supposed to the highest performance, track day versions and they're all more highly sought than the coupes.
BjoernB:u have a Point - but Porsche GT3 Drivers are NO posers
Really? Why are they that slow then when I get to meet them?
Joking aside: I agree, GT3 drivers are usually a bit more skilled than other sportscar drivers but there are posers as well and sometimes to a degree that it hurts. Being pretentious is not an exclusivity for other sportscar brands drivers only.

Don't think there was ever a 918 coupe..........................
RC:They could just easily call it Spyder Superleggera or whatever,
They can't use that name. It's copyrighted by another company. That's why the Huracán coupé (hardcore version) is named Performante(spyder version in Gallardo gen)
