I agree. He must have "juice" in the upper echelons of Ferrari.Smiley

Well he is 'in'. With the LaFerrari Spyder he will be on the inside track to everything now.

He got himself a Challenge car to race too. (easiest way to get a LaFerrari-ish car)

Indeed he is. That doesn't change the fact he's a w**ker.

Well, he doesn't look like someone who shouldn't have such a car... yes Actually, he fits the profile better than probably 90% of the typical LaFerrari customers... angry

Re: LaFerrari Spider To Be Showcased Privately Tonight

He clearly knows someone. He had been getting all the limited cars in recent years, though I see no indication he owns any of the older limited ones.

Then again, if you spend big money with the course cliente or whatever the racing thing is called, you'll get lots of LE allocations. Race the challenge series or xx stuff and you'll move way up the list.

If anyone likes to advertise himself as a racing driver because he's paying to participate in these Challenge events, it's him. Horrible twat in my book. Smiley

    Very true.

Also it seems Ferrari are aiming their LE cars more towards newer and younger clients.

Aren't many Challenge drivers doing the same? Smiley

Interesting Forbes article about this:  https://www.forbes.com/sites/darrenheitner/2016/08/24/how-josh-cartu-has-built-a-brand-name-in-the-business-of-motor-sports/#6c9...

He did 7th and 8th place (best results), so he is no super talent but he did OK. Smiley

I don't know him as a person though and yes, his social media activity is quite intense to advertise his team.

This guy is a twat, we all can agree on that. I understand what Ferrari is doing though.

The only explanation I see to open their lists to people like Cartu is pure branding. While financially they wouldn't have any problem in the short term selling their special editions to the "relatively" anonymous clients with astonishing collections, if they want to perpetuate the brand within the next generations, what's better than allocate a few units to instagram stars that tick some of the right boxes?

With that said, there are profiles and profiles. If the decission depended on me, I would have picked more Greg Baracchis (polite, racing guy, extremely low profile but extraordinary communications skills, outstanding collection) and way less Josh Cartus.

I have nothing against paying for a place in motorsports, of course not. I would do the exact same if I could.I have something against labelling yourself a professional racing driver on the basis of that, and managing your own Wiki page portraying that same lie. Smiley

Yes, it's him. As I said, if I were in Ferrari shoes, Greg or Ben Sloss would be the profiles that I'll look after instead of Cartu's. They in particular are already on board but you get my point.

Well...I played with some of my Daddy's money as well and made good money out of it. I wouldn't hold this against him. Smiley Also, it seems his business generates money, so... Smiley

I just don't seem to understand his attitude but who am I to judge? I'm not exactly the best example here. Smiley Smiley

Aren't we all a little bit jealous of him because he seems to make money off cars and racing? Smiley Smiley

Budapest is a nice city and the women are just beautiful. As a bachelor (I assume he is one) pure paradise. Smiley

I wouldn't want to live there either though but to each his own I guess. I assume he is "special" there (Budapest) but wouldn't be that special in London, Miami or even Paris. Smiley Also, lots of "freedoms" for people with money in Budapest. Smiley Smiley
