    Rennteam UK Meet #1 2006

OK all, summer may be dragging it's feet but I think it's high time we had another gathering - new and old crowd all welcome, and I'm happy to arrange the first of the year, probably starting/ending somewhere around the M3/M4 corridor.

So, can people give me w/es they can/can't make over the next month and I'll set something in action - hopefully DC's car will be back by then.

All comers welcome, be nice to see some new faces/exhausts!

Re: Rennteam UK Meet #1 2006

Hopefully get my baby back this coming weekend, thanks Rich C - as far as I know SWMBO has nowt booked until her daughter and family come over here in July. So thanks in anticipation......

Re: Rennteam UK Meet #1 2006

    Nothing planned. Bank holiday?

    Bank Holiday weekend traffic?

Re: Rennteam UK Meet #1 2006

Yeah. But is ANY weekend good? If we go on the Sunday, then might miss most of it? I just thought other (new) Rennteamers might be more available on a 3-day weekend, that's all. Maybe we need one of those fancy voting threads!

It would certainly be nice to see some new people, I agree Rich. Maybe post on the 911 board.

Re: Rennteam UK Meet #1 2006

Take your point - Sunday (28th May) would definitely be the best day - the lesser spotted grockle would have arrived at their nests and hopefully stay there until Monday. Most days good for us at the moment so we will quite happily slot in with what suits everyone else.

Have now discussed with SWMBO. I am instructed to go to Burgess Hill over the Bank Holiday weekend as it is my mother-in-law's birthday, a party has been planned for her and I will be made to suffer if I don't go. Any other weekend would be fine. Sorry chaps. The following weekend say Sunday 4th June any good?

Cheers to your mother in law I'd may come over to the UK if it's the Sunday 4th as Monday 5th is a Bank holiday in Germany Bank holidays in Germany do not affect traffic in the UK
Also I think it's a good idea to be so kind to invite some friend from the "icon camp" also - P-enthusiasts of the world - get united
Just saw this is my post Number 400

If the 4th sounds good to everyone and you can come, let us know if you want recommendations for places to stay, there are some beautiful hotels in the New Forest quite close to us. Or come anyway, we'd be more than happy to show you round.

Re: Rennteam UK Meet #1 2006

4th June is the first meeting of the Cayman register at PCGB HQ in Moreton-in-Marsh, Cotswolds. There are quite a lot of Boxster owners heading there, might be worth combining the meets ?

    ROLL CALL - 4 June

Had a nice drive round at the weekend (in the pouring rain) have come up with some good route ideas around the Andover/Basingstoke/Reading/Newbury areas, thinking of lunch at the Malt House at Romsety as has become traditional.

    So, numbers please.....

(Perhaps we'll meet up with our Caymen bretheren another day - it's a bit of a jaunt for me at the mo)

Mr & Mrs Dreamcar Thanks, Rich look forward to it. Wtsnet and I spent a rainy Sunday lunch at the Worlds End pub near Dorchester yesterday (excellent by the way but always busy)- and apart from putting the world to rights and discussing the higher things in life such as colour combinations, PASM or not to PASM et all and we we talked about meeting up on 4th

Very nice too, despite the rain. Malthouse sounds very traditional. Can we make the line of Boxsters a little longer this time? I'm going to have to get some Rennteam calling cards printed to leave under Boxster wipers, rustle up some trade.

Re: ROLL CALL - 4 June

Went down the driving range late this afternoon to try and get the hang of this golf thing. I think I'll stay with sports cars... see you on 4th.

Re: ROLL CALL - 4 June

We're going to be rolling on new tyres - while a certain measure of running-in is required this might just provide the opportunity

Isle of Man was good btw.

Re: ROLL CALL - 4 June

The Ente & Erpel Boxster is in. Can't believe there are no more Boxster owners in the south.. come on out.. it's good fun.

Re: The Plan - 4 June

Sorry for no posts last week - long story to share over lunch and a pint, but we're on for Sun (tomorrow!) and the weather looks good.

Still some route planning to do (nothing like leaving it to the last minute!!) but proposal is to meet at the services at the east end of the A303 again at noon (on the west bound side), just after it leaves the M3 - for those of you who joined our first ever meet it's the same place. A short jaunt to lunch appointment, then a longer x-country drive ending at another country retreat for a swift half or two. some good photo opportunities on the way too.

So far I think we've got...
    Me & sig other
    Mr & Mrs Dreamcar
    Ente & Erple
    Wtsnet

Come on guys.. anyone else? The weather forecast is fantastic.. the sun is out at last!!!!

Re: The Plan - 4 June

Sadly... we may have to pull out. We've managed to book a viewing of an apartment at noon. In other news the new tyres are distinctly skittish and not really the secure footing we would prefer on a spirited drive on country roads.

Re: The Plan - 4 June

Sorry to hear that Erpel, Ente... next time!

I think I'll meet at the pub, as I'm coming from t'other direction if that's OK? ETA at the Malthouse?

...and then there were three. Sorry you can't come this time. We'll be at A303 services 1200hrs.

Well, even with summer tyres back on (at last) my handling still doesn't feel quite right to me, so I'm going to have to be cautious too.

....and then there were two. Shame you couldn't make it wtsnet, you missed a great day. Thanks for an enjoyable run out Rich, good to see you both, magnificent weather and scenic uncrowded roads. At least I now know what an Eton Mess is!

Re: The Plan - 4 June

What tops it off is that the wonky real estate agent decided to let me hang out to dry on Sunday.. he didn't even show up. And by the time the missed appointment became reality it was too late to head out towards the Malthouse . Hope you two had a blast though and hope to meet ya all soon. Tied up a tad with moving and work until beginning of June but back in the market for a weekend drive starting the second July weekend.
