Not really, which is surprising. I guess we need to hear the car live to know for sure.

Huracan sounds great but has to much pops while downshifting which might become annoying over time, I believe they must have removed this fake feature on the Performante, let´s wait and see.

Sounds better than the R8. The sound is deeper and more voluminous. Must be great to hear it at full acceleration Smiley.

They removed the majority of these pops on the R8 and I assume they did the same with the Huracan (not sure though).

Yes, it was annoying but they are still there...only at higher revs and mostly when you shift aggressively by hand.

I think the recording masks the real sound. According to someone who heard the car live, there isn't much difference to the Huracan. Sound emissions laws don't permit that. Smiley

Which is good news. I wouldn't touch the sound of the Huracan. I don't like cars that are unnecessary noisy. Love the sound if the 488 so much more than the 458. The Huracan has the perfect balance.

I agree, the Huracan sounds amazing but I'm afraid that environmental groups don't give up. Every time I bring my R8 to my dealership, I have to explicitly warn them about not upgrading the software (basically meaning that they cannot connect the Audi tester to the car). This won't be easy if a technical problem occurs (then, they need to do a diagnosis and the risk of a "secret" software update is high), when I bring in the car for maintenance or when they need to check something. I am always afraid the sound could change. Muting the exhaust sound through a software update happened before on various cars, I just hope that Audi is done with this kind of crap. So far, the latest cars with the latest software updates sound the same as mine but you never know what the future brings. Smiley

Had at my horse center an lamborghini guy which is working with the carbon fiber at the factory. His girl is riding so we use to talk sometimes about cars, he said that the tires are very big improvement and that the new aerodinamic is really making a important part.

he said also that the car is the same as the client will get. They know that tney have done a monstre time at the ring...6.52 is something imcredible.

we will se when the tests are done.

They shouldn't...indeed but apparently they cheat and when they get caught, they need to tone it down. Smiley

I have 100 dB sound (stationary noise!) registered in the car documents. I know of no other street legal car to have the same in the car papers. For comparison: My wife's Cayenne S Diesel has 91 dB. My 991.1 C4 GTS Cab 97 dB as far as I remember.

Environmental groups always try to find cars which are too loud and they report them to the authorities. Then, the authorities contact the manufacturers. Sometimes it is even the police and/or the TÜV organizations who reports to authorities because some street legal cars exceed the permitted noise. Then, manufacturers reduce the sound, mostly using software updates (since most modern sportscars use flap control exhaust systems). In the R8 (and Huracan), there is even an electronically controlled flap system in the airfilter box to control noise, so it doesn't get too loud when the car stands or when it starts to accelerate. I heard a car with deactivated airfilter box flaps (open) and exhaust flaps (open) and it sounds all the time the way the car sounds when you start the cold engine. There is only one word for this sound: Infernal. Smiley Smiley

The April issue of "Car Magazine" digitally arrived yesterday and there's, of course, an article on the new Huracán Performante in the issue.  Only new tidbit released in the article is the ALA system is responsible for 0.2g to 0.4g of lateral acceleration.

No matter how good the Performante is...McLaren just "killed" it with their 720S. Both cars have a similar price tag in Germany. angry That neighbor guy I told you about, who has sworn he would never get a McLaren again? Who opted for a R8 or a Huracan or even the Performante instead? He just ordered the 720S. Sounds like a logical decision to me, as sad as this makes me. Personally, i would order the Performante but I have a special connection to that fabulous engine. I understand why people would go for the 720S instead. For basically the same money.

Here in the UK, I am not sure the 720S will be the same money. I specced mine yesterday trying to be lighter than usual on options/carbon and its not cheap. I will be speccing the Performante soon as well and it will be interesting to compare the two.

Competitive pricing in Germany; however, in the U.S. it appears that the Lamborghini will be offered at a lower price.

275k USD in the US...without tax. 232k EUR in Germany (incl. 19% tax). So the Performante is around 188k EUR in Germany. In USD this is 200k. So the Performante costs 75k USD more in the US than in Germany if I didn't mess up the calculation (it is late and I'm tired). Ouch.

I think they are quite close in price here as well (~$275k for Performante and $285k for 720S).  $10k at that level means very little...

The 720S is 200k EUR in Germany (without tax). This means around 214k USD (61k USD cheaper than in the US).

    Competitive market indeed.

I do not see how the 991 GT2 RS will fit in here...price-wise and performance-wise. This is going to be interesting.

Yes, we get good pricing on German cars here, but not very good on Italian and British cars...

If you want a nicely loaded 720S in Germany (e.g. with the full carbon pack), you will be > 300K€

I have configured a Performante with pretty much 80% of possible options and you are at less than 270K€ incl. special paint color, w/o special paint 260K€

    > 720S definitively more expensive than Performante in Germany

Options don't really count in my opinion.

I can get a 991.2 Carrera S up to 180k if I want to. But whats the point?!

Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

The final verdict on the 720s will depend on its drive feel and also track performance. In contrast to views often stated the 675LT did not fully convince with best lap times in all tests, i.e. the 675LT has setup flaws (650s as well). The question seems if they got it better with the 720s Smiley

Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

I am in process in ordering a 720S which I will finalize by Monday. I already specced the Performante as well. While the Huracan came at 260K EUR the 720S is 335K EUR with all exterior elements in carbon-fibre except the diffuser. Even without the carbon-fibre exterior a good car is 300K.

One more thing - I came to the Geneva Motor show with the GT3 RS, then spend a few hours around and inside the Performante and the 720S. After that I can't imagine myself waiting on a queue to pay 250K+ EUR  for the GT2 RS, no matter what engine and Ring time it has. The 991.2 GT3 is a great end to the 991 generation...

Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

Did you get a chance to see the Quartz paint swatch when you spec'd your 720s?
