    clear sidemarkers

    I just replaced the orange factory ones with the clear ones. They are Porsche OE that I ordered from Bumperplugs.com. Anyway, are these lights supposed to be illuminated all the time when the lights are switched on? For some reason I thought they only blinked when using the turn signal? Thanks.

    They are not turn signals.

    These lamps will function exactly as they US spec ones you just removed; they will be on whenver the parking lights or headlights are on (basically whenever the headlight switch is in either of its last two rightward positions). They do no finction as turn signals in their OEM configuration.

    You actually could make them function as turn signals---there should be instructions posted somewhere on Rennteam or an of the other Renn sites. I did this on a Volvo and it basically involved wiring the side markers to the blinker circuit behind the headlight. Not sure if its the same on Porsche but I'm assuming it would be similar.

    That's OEM configuration on European cars for the 987. On US cars they're wired differently. You can change this to the Euro config, but the question remains, whether this will be street legal in your region.
