front and rear radar detectors and laser blinders. Picked up the local newspaper in NJ and top story is that the Governor is considering bringing NJ speed limit back to 55 mph in order to reduce gasoline consumption. Perfect timing, no?

I've been thinking the same thing. It would be nice to get some advise from some others as to the most effective battery of defense. I have a K40 installed in a car and although it seems to work fine I suspect the technology is quite obsolete by now.

Then , some politician somewhere will want the feds to bring back the 85 mph ( max ) speedometer and the big red "55" on it's dial like we had in the 70s and 80s .![]()

The K40 is quite old and while it works OK against older guns, an Ultralyte or an LZ-1 will get you a ticket faster than you can say "Huh?". The ZR3 is a good jammer, so anyone who has it shouldn't worry about switching (yet), but I'd either take the Laser Pro Park or the Lidatek LE-30 Dual if I were buying a new one. The Blinder M-20 is a respectable jammer, but the LED's don't have enough power and cannot jam at longer ranges (anything above 600 feet is game for a modern LIDAR gun with the Blinder).
The Veil is a MUST for anyone using a Blinder (helps with the long distance shots) and I can attest to its effectiveness. The range of the LIDAR gun can drop to under 600 feet with a dark car (which has no or Laser Shield covered front plate). Even distances of under 500 feet were noted. Treat your headlights and other reflective surfaces, install the V1 under the top of the windscreen (so it picks up laser scatter from vehicles that are measured in the front - yes, it's THAT sensitive) and install the jammer directly beneath the license plate (two heads are even better). Rear protection is also desired if you can afford it, otherwise a Laser Shield and Veil alone will do a pretty good job. One more tip: treat the Laser Shield with Veil, before covering the license plate.
Also, always remember to shut off the jammer immediately after reducing speed, so as to avoid suspicion on behalf of the cop. That way jammers won't be banned everywhere any time soon (they are banned in Cali, Illinois and many of the eastern states, thanks to the idiots who jam-to-gun just to [censored] cops off).
But I can always take a trip to Maine...the coastal drive is always great in the late summer. Thanks again Crash..
I think you saved me alot of grief and made me realize..I knew enough about this topic to be dangerous Quote:

Thanksfor taking the time to map this out for me. What can I expect a system like this to cost, fully installed. Are their any reputable one stop shops..ie outfits that specialize in such a complete package or does it mean visiting a number of shops. I rather suspect getting this done in Canada may be difficult..we're getting rather european north of the border...But I can always take a trip to Maine...the coastal drive is always great in the late summer. Thanks again Crash..

. Regarding installation, it should cost no more than about $100 (most professional installs don't cost over $80 anyway). If I were you, I'd email Lidatek and ask them about installers in the NE US. I did it myself, but a professional installation will give you a peace of mind, knowing that somebody who knows how things are done did it for you. You might try an audio shop, though. They'll install everything, route the cables, etc., just make sure that the jammer heads are level and flush with the surfaces below and above it (not recessed). However, the Maine proposition sounds fine
