PCM NAVI failure - Anyone experienced this ?
Hello my best fellows !!
After having been undecided for more than two months, I finally have chosen to buy a full option 997 S triple black instead of a 996 Turbo X51.
The auto looks really great and I don't regret my choice.
I will post some photos when I will get my new "personalized" license plates.
Nevertheless, only one cloud in the sky : Last staurday I was on going to go to fitness and was listenning some music in my S.
But suddenly a failure occured, the PCM had stopped and some fumes came from the CD player.
I was pretty anxious that the entire car burns, but it was only few fumes and it was over.
After that , I tried to switch on the PCM, and it worked, but the screen was really affected, with blank lines on the display, and also some functions (TEL, Tuner) didn't work at all.
I had an appointment at my dealer in Luxemburg to check it, and eventually change it.
I don't really believe that they can repair it.
Anyone experienced this failure ? Someone from the garage said to me it has still happened on some cars.
Do you think I will become the brand new MP3 PCM player instead of my standard one ?? I hope so ....
