Help! Noise from rear differential
Mid 05 build C2S, ever since I got the car from the rear, between 20km to 30km when you are on-and-off the gas, I can hear this almost metal griding noise. Especially when you are playing with the gas, it is most notice-able.
I took it back to factory but get answers like "all Tip. 997 have this noise (problem)". It is just my car is more nosier than others. They told me that they are aware of this problem and is currently working with Germany trying to solve this issue. I don't buy it. I got my reservations. So, in try to reduce the noise, I think they mostly likely change gear oil for me during routine maintance but the noise is only slightly reduced.
I think it is from the rear differential because when I jack the car up (all 4 wheels), rear wheels have what I believe a bit more free-play room when you try to rotate them in the air then normal.
I would like know if anyone else on the forum have any comments on this topic?
