    moisture build up inside the fog light

    I need some help and advise regarding a lot of moisture build up inside the fog light housing. There are so much moisture in there that a lot of water drop build up on the lens. Any one have the same porblem???

    Any one have the same problem and maybe can give me advise. I took it to the dealer and they said it is normal. The fog light lens got so much moisture in there when it rains, you can not even see the inside. Make me feel like driving a old old car.

    Emm, don't like the sound of that. It might be normal, but it can't be right, can it?

    Several years ago the rear lens assemblies on the 964 cars filled with water. They ultimately decided that it was a design flaw. If it's not too much trouble can you remove the assembly intact from the vehicle and inspect it for where the intrusion is coming from? Maybe a poorly installed gasket? Is there a vent hole somewhere on the bottom of the assy that is blocked? Personally, I would rather look at it myself to figure out the 'why' of it than to go back to a dealership for a solution. I think we all know their first answer will be "that's normal." The problem with moisure obviously is that it will start to breakdown the silver reflectance coatings in there as well as to impact the electrical conductivity of the bulbs and wiring. Look for the drain hole after searching out the gasket installation job.

    There's a drain tube on the back off the housing so that the fog lights can 'offgas'...Have you checked that its properely connected....That is not normal!!

    I did check the vent tube. It seems O.K..

    I'd remove the whole unit with the "credit card" that comes with the car's papers. See owners manual on how to remove it. Then I'd inspect and try to find the problem myself. Could be quite evident problem like a misaligned gasket or grommet. Good luck!
