How can someone who has his coffee flown in from a coffee plantation in Hawaii tolerate Starbucks? Either you just can't tell the difference or you're offering up the usual pile of excrement that passes for an 'opinion'.

    Please have some self-respect Nick!

I order at Starbucks a double expresso Machietto which is nothing more than expresso pour through foam. A nice afternoon kick.

I have tried using a home expresso machine and it just doesn't taste as good. You need good water pressure to do the job right. I suppose I could pay $3000 for good Italian expresso machine but then I would not have a reason to drive my Ferrari.

so you only use it to drive to Starbucks?
Oh thats right i forgot, you're not "supposed" to actually drive F cars...

Since we're talking about Nick, his Ferrari, and Starbucks, I thought it might be time to bring out that classic picture again...

    Is that Nick?

    David

    Yes, it is.

If I remember correctly, Nick said earleir in the thread that some street person gave him 5 bucks to pose for that shot.

Nick to me seems to talk out of both sides of mouth: It's doomsday for Porsche, but in the same breath, Porsches are everywhere. Or how about this one, sales are down, yet they are getting less exclusive. I'm actually beginning to feel sorry for the guy..

You shrinks have difficulty understanding black and white. Your entire lives are spent in grey(read maybe). Thus you have problems interpreting my post. I never said Porsche is going bankrupt. I have said the opposite. They are fleecing their customers. It is the MOther of all fleecing and they are making a ton of money doing it.

What I have maintained is if they do not correct their ways, eventually they will pay the price. That has been my position from the outset. Now do I need to color this post grey to help you understand?

    I rest my case..

Re: The issue may be bigger than Porsche thinks.

I'm not sure Porsche will pay the price. The enthusiast will. Example: BMW was a niche marque is now mainstream. Did that stop them becoming profitable? No it meant that buyers pay an inflated price for an above average car that is worth average money when he sells it. Net result buyer feels fleeced. A feeling which is increasing as we come to sell our increasingly popular P's.Contrast this with Ferrari buyer who (if he buys the right car) knows Ferrari makes less than 5000 cars a year, buys 430, runs it sells it with little loss and rarely sees another one.Like Porsche used to be. Difference? Ferrari is owned by Fiat and therefore not independent, Porsche is independent but must prodcue cars like Boxster and Cayenne and Panamera to survive-and make enormous profits.

So Nick is right and eventually if the trend continues the Porsche will be become much closer to an above average, branded product with average resale and not really special. The boxster is ubiquitous and universally appealing especially as girls often like small open top sports cars.

Regarding coffee: I caught up with the board last night and was highly entertained by fellow enthusiasts exhibiting typical P car F car demanding behaviour regarding the beans. What about the water? The quality of the water makes at least as much difference to the flavour of coffee as the beans themselves.....

Nick, I think it's the latest Motor Trend (or perhaps some car mag), there's an interview with Ferrari's chief designer. He was asked which car company has it going on, i.e. doing all the right things. Guess which company he mentioned? (hint: it's not Ferrari)

That's not a nice thing to say. As much as we joke and kid around, insults should not find a place here.
