    Finally my 987S pics

    Finally pics of my own 987S! Great weather so far here in HK. Got 28km on the odom when I got it, half tank of gas only

    So far it feels excellent, great ride quality with with PASM in normal mode, sport mode is simply harsh and not useable here! The car becomes darty in less than perfect roads. Trying hard to not rev above 4k until 1,000 km, now got 440 over the 1st weekend. The Bose is a bit of a disappointment, and can't really feel the bass from the back might bring it back for a check later. Otherwise the car runs flawlessly, great interior, nice sports rim, shifter starting to loosen up, park sensor is a must for tight parking spots. The steering feels slightly less direct and more damped than the 986's but still it is great. I think the ride with 18inch PS2 is great and will never opt for 19inch, will only change to a set of lighter weight forged 18 but so far unable to find a good looking set, PCD130 hub is unique.

    Feels relieved to receive it after 5months and just won't leave home without it!

    You have my sympathy about the Bose system! Sweet car--I really only like the terracotta interior on the lighter colors, looks good!

    You have to try the sport mode with PASM in normal mode. You get the more responsive gas trotle and a slightly harder ride than in normal but a lot less hard than in "full" sport.

    My Bose actually is very very "boomy". I have the bass at about 1/3 of the maximum value and I get a very nice bass from it. If I increase the value I can hear the windows and looser objects vibrate because of the bass.

    where is that road? how could you just pull over on the freeway and take pictures like that? hahah~

    mine is coming in less than 3 months... can't wait. we should get together and do a photoshoot when it comes.

    But Steve is there any bass coming from the woofer between the seats? All I can hear from it is nothing more than some low frequency murmur, which doesn't sound right! I think I will try to disconnect the woofer today and check it, I should be getting more bass from the back, not just murmur...

    Yup no sport chrono so no sport button! but I am happy with the 10mm drop and the normal suspension setup, good ride quality. But, they absolutely should have an extra mode between sport and normal...

    cym104 some tech info the tele shots are taken with Canon 5D + 70-200LIS and the interior shot is taken with Olympus E330 + 7-14 F4. In Raw format converted via C1Pro. Will try to take more pics but the weather is not looking good...

    Alezone, yup I just stopped the car somewhere in front of the Science Garden around Shatin and started to take the pics! Yeah if we can take some group 987 pics than it will be really cool...

    Nice color combo. Is the top cocoa? The more I see the terra cotta, the more I like it.

    Just checked, there is nothing coming out from the Bose subwoofer, got to call Porsche center tom.... a bit too difficult to uncover the Bose power plug under the soft top...

    I'll never understand why Porsche's break in recommendations are not consistent comparing various countries/regions.

    In Germany they recommend for the initial 3,000 km not to rev beyond 5,000 rpm, though it's ok to go beyond this mark now and then (only for short intervals) after the engine oil has been warmed up properly. Just avoid to go beyond 3,500 rpm before the oil is warmed up (also true after the break in procedure). I hate that Porsche didn't spend an oil temp/pressure gauge for the Boxster (could replace the analogue speedometer which I never look at).

    Have you tried turning the bass all the way up and feeling for air coming out of the port? It's unlike typical subwoofers where air BLOWS out of the port with such force. There isn't much volume inside the subwoofer as it has to share its enclosure with two other drivers (surrounds).

    I don't get any air movement from my bose sub either - unless you really crank up the bass and volume to silly levels it doesn't seem to do anything

    Agreeing with AJ here--you won't feel anything out of that port.

    Thanx probably nothing is wrong with it, but plain disappointment! Well in order to improve the acoustics, will consider to add Tubi exhaust + manifold after the 1st service...

    Will also consider to paint the center console to exterior color as well, Terra matches well with Arctic Silver.

    Now 530km on the odom, 1st full tank able to run 330km only, with my previous MKV GTI able to do 500km with the same tank size. First couple hundred km can see some pretty noticeable difference with the steering feel, now more organic with slightly more feedback (probably the tyres), engine feels smoother and more willing to rev, and also the 1st gear is now easier to engage. I don't have the sport shifter but I think the normal travel is pretty good already. Don't really like the handbrake, a bit clunky requires many clicks to stop the car on a hillstart.

    Pretty much my perfect machine!
