12K clutch
My '03 boxster is currently at the dealership needing a complete clutch job at just 12,000 miles! This car gets only light driving by mature adults who have driven only manual transmission cars (and never come close to experiencing this kind of premature wear). So what gives? Including flywheel replacement, the cost is close to $3K!! Dealer said no hydraulic fluid leaks so I pay (this on a lease that goes back next June). I luv this car but this is crazy. Am I the only one with this problem. Any suggestions on how to deal with Porsche. Are there any issues that this forum is aware of that make this a warranty fix? BTW, no i don't rest my foot on the clutch pedal but I have found that unlike most other manual transmission cars, to achieve a smooth engagement, it's almost always necessary to finesse the clutch action a bit. I could see this possibly resulting in a bit more wear but no way just 12,000 miles. Sorry for the downer 1st post. I appreciate this forum for all the great info.
