The Cayman platform really does not need rear wheel steering. Nor does it need center locks. Hope those two things stay away!

Indeed - hard to imagine why anyone wants it to rotate any faster than it already does.. CLs I got used to - bit of a faff but not the end of the world. Would still prefer 5 bolts though.

Wish it didn't require a helper to press the brake pedal or big clamp when tightening or loosening the center bolt...

Yeah, it's a 2-person job ideally. Buy a big wrench, no torque multipliers. Some buy extendable ones to make them more transportable. After that it's just a case of break it, remove wheel, clean surfaces, regrease mating surfaces with special grease, put the wheel back on then torque it. Back off 180 degrees, torque again, and jiggle the safety lock til it's popped out. Simple!

Inspection calls for checking the mating surfaces for scoring, and full disassembly of the nut, cleaning and regreasing the internals. This can be left til service time though.

Take a guess: They wanted people to notice it.

Follow up question: Why did Porsche want ALL their other models to be noticed but not the next GT4?

If you find that question hard to answer, there is a bonus question: Name one Porsche model which did not get noticed?

Have you noticed those Q7 driving around in Zuffenhausen and Weissach? No, they are not Audis.

My Q7 is actually a Urus , just with an Audi badge

You'd be surprised: Lamborghini is actually using the Q7 (or was using it) for Urus testing.

Fun fact: Did you know that Audi is using Skoda as their test beds? Those Skoda Yeti "Monte Carlo" which are seen driving around in Mladá Boleslav are the next R8.

Because they want the press to find out about a certain model at a given time when they (Porsche) "allows" it to happen. If they unveil a certain model too early, this could affect sales numbers of current models. That simple. Otherwise they would openly publish their production plans for the next five years and wouldn't need to hide certain models. Smiley

I was very productive during that time...actually created and set up Rennteam during that time with CR. Long nights... Before Aron jumped in and took over development and maintenance.
