    Red 997TT in Sweden

    Here is a picture that was sent to me by a forum-friend(The_artist @ GCZ) of mine. It was taken today in Gothenburg, just 10 minutes from where I live.

    Weissach owned/operated pre-series car, very likely from the first batch produced early January/February. They have to drive these beasts to make sure everything is OK when first cars go to customers.

    Thanks a lot for the picture, it reminds me on how great red looks on the 911 Turbo. I wish I could have ordered a red one again but...

    Little hint for photographers: if you ever find such a car again, take a picture of the VIN number on the driver's side below the windshield. It may tell us sometimes what car it is and where it is coming from.

    I'll cruise around town tomorrow and hopefully I'll bounce into one of these test cars and impressive the drivers with my rather slugish German.
    The car does actually look very good in red, though I'm unsure if it will stop me from dreaming about a black 997TT.

    Despite the "design flaws," it looks quite good in red.

    Is there any way you can tell it is a pre-series car?...other than the fact that it is out way early and the wicked antenna...

    And if you look closely at the passenger seat through the rear window...is that a three point harness? or just a wierd glare from the window or a wierd seatbelt? odd

    i can do it for free if they give me one car NOW..also brown painted no problem..

    Im not liking the front LED lights. Vandals will be kicking them in or popping thwm off to stick them onto Hondas and Neons. They do no lot holistic with the bumper or the car.

    When I saw this pic, my first reaction was who in the hell glued old flash cubes onto the bumper.

    Im sure the car is great. I suggest tinting the led lights upon delivery.

    Yes. Production of launch/customer cars started in April as far as we heard. 997 Turbo production (generally speaking) already started in January this year.
    Prototypes were usually painted in black to make sure they don't catch too much attention, it is also easier to camouflage them. There is a special department in Weissach which actually "develops" the camouflage for the cars and sticks it to them. Highly interesting.

    You should, this is Porsches latest way to connect your Ipod...though not yet confirmed rumours are that if you have tiptronic you can control some functions via the steeringwheel - stylish

    cant get used to red porsches. i feelthe color is another marques trademark. but i wouldnt even buy that other brand in red.

    I really would like to see the Turbo in real life, because with a lot of shades (for example this red shade) the front just looks too long and droopy.

    It's exaggerated by the front lights and leds, probably mostly by the angle we're viewing it from...

    Yesterday while visiting the dealer, I saw a red 997 S coupe and it was by far the best color on 997, just imagine it on TT. If I didnt have the red cab, my TT would definitely be a red TT.
