    tyre wear rating

    i found that the tyres have a number to indicate the wear of the tyre. for example michelin ps2 has a 220 and continental sportcontact2 has a 280. as far as i know, that means that contis last longer, around 27%. but, can anybody tell me what that number means and in what conditions are they tested in order to get this number.
