Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

I tried searching but cannot find anything. This is my last week to make any changes to my order. Anyone has any pics of what the adaptive sport seats look with the back in leather? Any suggestions as to if this would look nicer in a cab?

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

I opted for this on my car,--but it is in production. Can't share shots. It will be blue turquoise with natural brown leather interior. I felt that the grey plastic just looked way too cheap. I suspect Porsche really intends for people to opt for having them painted to match the exterior colors,--rather sporty looking that way. But I chose the leather. I don't have any kids right now that can kick the leather with their feet when sitting in the jump seats,--certainly a consideration to factor in. (Paint would be equally affected I think).

Sorry no pics (because there're rare) but just consider how you use back seat. Even sliding your briefcase or duffel bag into the back "seats" will be enough to eventually accidentally permanently scratch the cr*p out of the nice leather. IMHO, just get the stock seats; have them painted matt black if you really can't stomach the stock "smoked silver." Again, just my us$.02

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

Actually, I have lived with full leather interiors before on the backs of the front seats and I haven't had that problem at all,--and the leathe is tough stuff.

I hear you but I really think paint will be more delicate than leather, maybe what you are saying is that it would be easier to fix if scratched?

You are right, I hate every smoked grey piece in the car from the wheel to the PCM!

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

Here is 997 cab from member Silvio. Adaptive Sports Seats backs in leather looks and feels awsome, IMO.

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

And how about some PCM in leather as well...
This is 997 Turbo with small CF package.

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

Thanks KresoF1, that car looks awesome any more pics?

I think the stock "smoked silver" stuff is pretty durable. I accidentally raked my keys across it and uttered some expletives thinking I scratched it. Inspected it later and nothing (wheeeew). Not sure how leather would have reacted. As far as painting them? You might have a good point there.

There just seems to be alot more ways to damage leather than there are to damage the stock stuff.

Yes, I already have that option ticked

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

No, but, you may PM Silvio since this is his car.
Few days ago I saw Basalt Black 997 coupe with Bi-color Black/Terrakotta interior... Adaptive Sport Seats backs were also in terrakotta as well as PCM and floor mats were black. Very nice looking IMO. Sorry no pics-I saw that car on the petrol station!

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

Aren't the usual seat backs on adaptive sports seats 'volcano grey' as well? I thought they were. That way, it's the same material as that used for the standard PCM and instrument dials.

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

I think the grey plastic seat back is pretty flimsy. I'm always be extra careful but somehow I got some scratches in the back of my Adaptive sports seat.
I don't know how it could have happened?

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

The cheap stuff on the rear of the adaptives is the volcano grey junk,--"space age material," aka PLASTIC. Didn't think it would cut it with a car highly covered in leather inside. Porsche needs another option on their list: "Delete PLASTIC"

(Although I don't know if we are prepared for the $ damages!)

Re: Adaptive Sport Seats - back in leather - Pics Anyone?

    Dan,
I agreed it's junk. I'd rather they put leatherette (flake leather) on the seat backs.

Uh, fellas..., geez. The finish on the stuff is very nice. I think it is "painted" with a pigmented acrylic resin (probably heat cured) which means it's tough and repairable and "Space Age." Underneath the finish it is ABS (acrylonitrilebutylstyrene) plastic. About 80 percent of the non-metallic parts of the CAR IS MADE FROM ABS! Bumpers, underbody, center console, etc. etc. etc. .

Change your mind about plastic, you're waaaaayout of date. IMO, Porsche does not scrimp on materials, the problems I hav with Porsche is they don;t get the styling and design right 100% of the time.
