It only seems logical the extra tourque would translate into faster excelleration off the line. It's surprising porsche wouldn't discuss this element as part of the features of sport chrono. In any event I have a July build...with SC...I can't wait![]()

This forum has prooved very informative on the Tiptronic. I am convinced it likely outperforms in most instances. I still can't get past the manuals interactive appeal. I just like shifting myself..as flawed as this soundsI guess I remain in the dumb club..albeit dumd with Sport Chrono

Standard Turbo times:
0-100 kph (60 mph) 3.9 sec
0-200 kph (125 mph) 12.8 sec
Tiptronic:
0-100 kph 3.7 sec
0-200 kph 12.2 sec
0-200 kph (Sport Chrono) 11.6 sec
This is all I have regarding Sport Chrono, the 11.6 sec. are UNOFFICIAL, I got this number from one of our sources.
Earlier I had a 11.8 sec figure but apparently I got it wrong.
From 0-100 kph, there doesn't seem to be an improvement with Sport Chrono activated but at higher speeds, the differences are clearly there. Just to give you a hint about what we're talking, a 997 Turbo Tiptronic with Sport Chrono hits Pagani Zonda grounds up to 200 kph and it "beats" the F430 F1 time by more than a second.
Ordering the 997 Turbo without Sport Chrono is the dumbest thing to do, the second one would be to order the 997 Turbo with manual (just kidding...).

11.6s would be an excellent number and a positive surprise
BTW: Would you currently expect that Porsche will introduce the GT2 with PDK![]()

I'd imagine a GT2 with PDK and Sport Chrono (which should be standard anyway) would reach 200 km/h at under 11 seconds. I'd think that Porsche would do that, so as to make the GT2 convincingly faster than a 997TT Tip to 200 km/h, for marketing reasons. That will be one hot car.

btw thas anyone know if a limited slip diff would be a problem with pdk, since pdk is closer (in construction not effect) to a manual gearbox. that together with the extra gear (5 vs 6) should give it an edge over the tipitronic (maybe less wight as well). can anyone shed some lght on this!?
thanks in advance![]()
