For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a favour?

Can someone provide me as accurate as they can a dimension as shown in the image below.

I have a double garage which has a structural wall between each space but there is an opening in this wall which allows me to open the car door fully to get access. Just making sure the new car fits, or I'm going to have to move house.

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

I've had a guess and I'm thinking it's about 2880mm. Can anyone confirm this for me. Thanks Guyz and Galz.

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

2832mm is what I got. Measured twice but by myself. Should be right on.

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

    Ditto!

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

Excellent. Thanks guys. Won't have to move after all (much to the disappointment of my wife) but I will have some serious garage re-arranging to do.

LOL. Glad to help. BTW, here's more potential work to think about. I eventually had to remove EVERYthing from my garage not so much to make room for the car. More noteably: the car looked sooooo good the mess just had to go!!! Now the only thing in the garage is cars and a few double-door steel cabinets.

Something to think about; the beautiful car and sh*tty contrast it makes with "junk" around it. Maybe even a nice fresh paintjob for the walls?

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

Hehe, I kind of went through the same process when I got my TT (Audi) but they are about 450mm shorter than the 997 so it fitted perfectly.

You just reminded me. I was going to paint the floor before it's arrival in a few weeks and typically, it was a sunny day today and we're forecast rain tomorrow.

I'm not sure if it was the Rennteam forum where this was discussed before and there was some superb gloss finishes. I need to get some protective rubber on the external corners of some exposed block work. Once the floor is painted and the car is here I'm going to fasten a raised strip on the floor which I'll drive upto and use as a stopping point.

Only thing that isn't going so well is the fact that no-one wants to buy the darn Audi!

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

You should have no problems fitting the 997S. I have a 3 car garage and for Architectural effect, one of the garages is 2'-0" shorter than the other 2 and I park my 997S in the that small garage and still have a few inches in front and back. Since it's tight I have put a wooden block in front of the car on floor, so when my front tire hits the block, it will stop and the nose will not hit the wall. To be safer I put a cushion on the wall too

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

We chopped in a TT when we got the C4S. Space-wise there aren't any problems/ changes in the garage (a double).

I think the TT was more difficult to get in and out of (the doors felt heavier), despite being not as low as the Porsche, so you should be fine!

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

The C2S is about 400mm longer than the TT, so I've had to remove everything out of the garage so that the front can go far enough forward for me to enable the door to open between the opening in the centre of the garage.

The P won't fit in the other side as it only just fits the wifes Mk5 Golf.

In pictorial view it's something like this. Not to scale mind you.

Pics of the LHS Garage. With floor painted. Best I could do as the car arrives home in 12 days.

I also, whilst I was mesing with the floor decided to put some protection on the corner of the blockwork. Used a plastic angle to plumb the corner, then stuck some padded insulation tape to add some cushioning. Better than nothing. Now it's highly unlikely I will hit the door on the corner, but hey you never know. I'm also fixing a galv. strip to the floor as a wheel stop. Only about 8mm high.

    ResB,
be careful with your bike. You don't want to drop it on your bonet.

Re: For those that own a 997 C2S, can you please do me a fav

Hehe. It's my wife's and if she's touched it twice in 3 years I'll be surprised! It's pretty well fastened up there but I hear what your saying.
