    new 3.4 engine may not be all that it says! look here

    check out this dyno of the cayman S and the boxster s
    http://www.rototestinstitute.org/index.php?DN=29&List=mr
    looks like only a 6 hp / 2ft-lb difference.. not that impressive.

    I think the Cayman being Tiptronic may account for its greater losses in the powertrain

    But this is to the REAR WHEELS vs. the crankshaft. So this power difference is significant. Very noticeable on the track, but not on the street.

    they are both measured at the wheels.. and if you look the boxster s torque curve seems to be higher over a larger rpm range even though peak is 2 ft-lbs lower...
