    Spaced Out

I bought some 7mm H&R spacers for my new Carrera S rims (track tyres) .......... but thought it was worth seeing how they fitted up with my XRR's which already fill the rims nicely, being that bit wider than the other wheel options. Photos below show the result ...... both wheels look very maxed out on the body ........rears probably ok but the fronts show a bit too much rubber from the front view and the clearance at full lock (turn in) against the fwd face of the inner arch may be too fine.

    Re: Spaced Out

that is wierd I thought the front offset for the XRR is 57 just like my carrera classics, I also have the 7mm all around yet yours stick out much farther. could it be the difference in camber or wheel width.
looks good, hope they dont rub...

    Re: Spaced Out

Looks noce. Now I have an idea of how they look like. I'm thinking of getting mine done also.

    Re: Spaced Out

I guess the marginal position of these XRR/305's in the arch with spacers is why Porsche says spacers are not available with XRRs on a new car order

    Re: Spaced Out

BTW, niiiiiice (perhaps inadvertant) photo interpretation of the car's aesthetics. I don't think I've EVER seen the car from that POV.

    Re: Spaced Out

If I'm correct the XRR rear are 67 off set, because they are 11.5 wide that would be like running 54 off set on 11 in . rear. That being said I know a lot off aftermarket wheels Like Renspeed and Techart are in the 55-58 off set. so that would put you right with them. Look great to me..

    Re: Spaced Out

Nice! Looks wicked! I just put 5mm in front and 17mm in rear on my Carrera Classics. Pics to follow...

The offset on the XXR front is 55 versus the Classic 57 but the rim width is different - 8.5 v. 8.0. With the wider rim even with the same size tire, the section width will be about 0.2 inch more than with the 8.0 inch rim.

The XRR rear offset is 57 and I think that on the C4 and C4S you have 17mm spacers already installed.

The rear wheels are 67mm. I have notice this on some pictures of XRR rims where you can see the stamping. Since you are questions me, I had to check myself so I ask the guys at wheel Enhancement and they said it's 67. If you were to but these rims on a C2 or C2S with 7mm spacers and they were as you say 57mm they would be sticking out to far because you would be at 50mm, witch is farther then the C4 and C4S wheels. You are correct about the XRR rims using spacer form the Factory as these rims only come in one rear off set.. Not trying to be a**, just trying help.

    Re: Spaced Out

Maybe I'm confused - if the XRR wheels are the 19 inch Carrera Sport wheels then the sizes per the Tequipment 911 accessories book for 997's show:
    Front: 8.5J x 19 ET 55 and
    Rear: 11.5J x 19 ET 57

ET as the offset in mm - maybe a typo or maybe the XRR are not the Carrera Sport wheels. Since I have the Classics and not the Sports, I can't check by looking - need someone with the XRR to look at the stamping on the rear rim by the valve stem to confirm. Thanks.

    Re: Spaced Out

I think 55 and 67 should be right.
so do the front wheels have longer bolts since they have 2mm offset difference than the others?

No, the rims is the same thickness where it bolts to the hub.
