Believe it or not...they DO. Not always with success though.
PLEASE post such stuff here on Rennteam.com and if you know a dealer who tries to get a substantial premium from you to get a 997 Turbo, please post it here too, including the name of the dealership. And please guys, I mean SUBSTANTIAL premiums, not if your dealer isn't willing to give you any rebate on a launch car.

There was a dealer in NYC that turned Derek Jeter's $750,000.00 offer for their Carrera GT. I believe that they did get $650,000.00 for the same car later.

The VIN number is not the actual number as this sale is for my spot for the brand new 2007 Porsche Carrera Turbo AWD at Roger Beasley Porsche in Austin, TX. This is the #1 SPOT for the FIRST BUILD MONTH - JUNE, 2007. This will be the FIRST 2007 PORSCHE TURBO coming out of the Austin dealership (which is a high volume dealer), and thus one of the first in the nation!! You may have seen other auctions where people are auctioning off spots but all are July builds or later - this is truly the #1 spot available on EBay.
PAYMENT & DELIVERY: Upon the confirmation of the transaction, the winning bidder will be required to IMMEDIATELY pay (1) the winning bid amount to me AND (2) a $10,000 deposit directly to Roger Beasley Porsche so that they may return my deposit to me. The Austin dealer is aware and has consented to the transfer of the #1 spot. Yes, NYC sounds about right. I remember hearing, though, that it sold at or under MSRP.
RC, Porsche would do well to ban such idiots from any further purchases. If they really couldn't afford the car, they could just pass on the slot to another lucky guy, who'd gladly accept, not try to get over $20.000 for it
