    Aging of Basalt Black vs. Regular Black

    Between Basalt Black and Regular Black, which color ages better? In other words, how do they hold up after a few years? I plan to keep my car a while and would like to know which one would look better in the future.

    BB is the colour for you then. With black you see the marks over time. Also much harder to keep "clean"

    It all depends on how you take care of your car. Black shows its age from improper care. Black on the other hand will look great if cared for properly. It shows abuse right away where other colors are more forgiving. The abuse shows up in the form of swirl marks. Swirl marks on black is more noticeable than on any other color. If you know how to wash and detail a car without adding swirl marks go with black. If not then go with basalt black.

    Modern paint doesn't "age" unless you allow it to through neglect or unintentional abuse and rough handling and improper technique. So what you're really asking, is: "which color hides abuse and neglect better?", to which the correct answer is Basalt Black, as others have already correctly said.

    Black is a thing of beauty, but not recommended for those who don't tend towards the obsessive-compulsive. I'm the poster-boy for obsessive-compulsive disorder!

    solid black looks much better IMO,but yes.. basalt will age better whatever you do , unless its a week end car..

    I would go with regular black, keep it waxed and it will look gr8n and touching it up will look much better than basalt black. I have had 4 regular black and one Baslat black and IMO BB just does not age well.

    Basalt for sure. As every one else says, black with show all the wear and scratchs very easily. Basalt has metallic in the paint which will cover the scratchs better and give a good shine always.

    I perfer black over basalt but you really have to baby it to keep it tip top!

    Good decition either way!!
