    While Waiting for 997 TT I bought a Ford GT

    Since the 997 TT won't be availalble for a few more months I had to buy a Ford GT while I wait. The GT is Awesome!! I doubt the TT will outperform it but the #'s aren't in. I hope the Magazines get a hold of the TT soon for testing, I can't wait. I'll be ordering Silver/Black Loaded with a TIP.

    To me there completely 2 different vehicles, The GT is a Monster and a Blast to drive. My last exotic was a 360 Modena I sold it 2 years ago and when I drove it people would look at it but they really wanted to key it. The GT is different every one who sees it loves it, The truck drivers to the Ricers just go crazy when they see it. I think because it says "FORD" on the side of it most people can relate to it. The 997 TT to me is a Luxury sports car way more amenities like NAV, Traction control and All-Wheel drive. I can drive the TT in the rain and to places I probably wouldn't drive the GT. I sold my 996 TT a year ago and I miss it, its a Great all around car. I Think the 997 TT will run circles around the 996TT. The TT also has more room in it than the GT and is better for long drives. If I end up with both cars I will consider myself a very Lucky person.

    Ford GT is coooooooooool. Collector's car. Not daily driver. 997 Turbo is a daily driver.

    Claim valid only for a Tiptronic equipped 997 Turbo with Sport Chrono.

    I'm not sure I understand: do you mean that Ford delivers the GT for international customers with less power? Or do you mean that the engines are delivering more than the claimed 550 HP (Europe)?

    No the 997TT will not outperform your GT40. Despite the fact that none of us has driven the 997TT yet. The GT40 is a serious contender. It's wearing the FORD badge but so much time has been spent on the desisn and production of that car, it's impressive. Congat!

    delivering WAY more than the claimed figure. US cars are dyno-ing 520+ HP @ the wheels....either they are underestimating or its the best transmission of all time;) either way, the car traps in the quarter mile (yes yes, yell at me all you like for simple acceleration measures) near 128 MPH...this is very very fast. nearing CGT levels...

    Sport Auto tested the Ford GT and although they liked it, it wasn't really close the Carrera GT.
    I try to find the article and I post the results.
    Of course the Ford GT isn't a slow car but although I heard the same "more power" story from other sources (and I suppose it is valid for ALL produces Ford GT, not only the US versions), I still have to think about that track test in Sport Auto. But I have to admit that I don't have any first hand experience with this car, unfortunately.

    twinturbo001...how have you found the doors on the Ford GT? I have heard they are impossible to get in and out of, if you are parked next to another car (cause of the 'roof section' that is attached to the door.)

    Actually check out this Comparison the Ford GT was neck and neck with the Carrera GT.

    The doors can be a issue in tight spots I don't park where this becomes a issue. I think the way the doors are makes the GT what it is, The doors are Very Cool.

    trackwise i doubt its there, and its a bit heavier too, but theres a ton of power....levels close to the CGT...but again, chassis tuning etc is why u pay another 350K in the us LOL> cool car though, lots of personality.
