    997 GT3 Roll Bar

    Can you get a roll bar for the U.S. version of the GT3? Is it part of the clubsport package? THanks

    it is highly likely that the old tequipment bar will fit, same with the cup cage, they havent changed the design of those for awhile.

    i believe the part for the tequipment bar hasnt changed and i saw some pics of a 997 with the 'old' bar.

    It is also going to be interesting to see if the new 997GT3 rollbar will fit on the US version with a sunroof...

    on the 996 at least, the rollbar is behind where the sunroof ends, so it shouldnt be a problem

    I still can't believe that the US version will have Sunroof only (no delete option)...Would really boggle my mind

    The whole ceiling is lower in a sunroof car, so it will matter. There are two different rollbars for the 911's (1965-1989) with and without sunroof...

    You can get it with a sunroof... When I last checked this was not an option over here

    i know that you CANT place a roll bar if you have sunroof....

    I recall this being a selling point for the DAS Sport bar against the Tequipment bar. The DAS bar was made for a GT3 without sunroof so it was more flush to the roof and obstructed rear vision less while the tequipment bar had to fit a sunroof. I could be remembering incorrectly though.

    i have a 996 tequipment roll bar fitted in my 997 with sunroof. don't think it will be any different for the gt3.

    What do you mean ??.... The 997 GT3 bound for the US will ONLY have sunroof tubs . NO delete option?

    although I dont understand it, it has something some regulation (stiffness or rigidy ) in the US And as they had to prepare it for US cars they thought to offer it to other markets as an option, well knowing that only a few would pick this option

    not sure what you mean? but my point is that if the 996 roll bar fits a 997 with suroof it should fit the 997gt3 with sun roof (same body sheel and roof). not that i would want a gt3 with suroof.

    Yes, you're right a rollbar that fits the 997 with sunroof should fit the GT3 with sunroof. I was thinking that the rollbar for the GT3 was different, since there are no back seats.

    my only consolation for not having the club sport option in the us is that i already have a roll bar, harness, extinguisher and 996gt3 seats that i can use in the 997gt3.

    In the UK Porsche configurator, the clubsport package is NOT available in conjunction with the optional sunroof for the new 997 GT3. Draw your own conclusions.

    Simple as Clubsports rules dont allow for sunroofs

    The 996 GT3 and Tequipment roll bars were completely different, so you cannot draw that conclusion.
