The GT4CS I will keep at my track club, not road legal anyway.

It will be a car that I will polish my skills with on a track. Fast enough but not too fast. Perhaps down the road I will graduate to a Cup car and beyond.

Sounds really fun - will track be open in 2016?

    Oh yes.

These were taken 2 days ago. On the last pic, from right to left is turn 16 (out last turn) 15,14,13.

The straight between turn 13 and turn 12 is done and right now turn 12 is taking shape.

By 1st week of May it should be covered, at least partially with concrete.

Oh man, that looks exciting!! Can I be there for the opening ceremony?

    Haha, great imagination!

I think I might propose that to the board Smiley

But then again we already have a secret road nearby that's pretty much deserted up an down the mountain and through some forest that's about 30km long Smiley

The little straight on the left side is taking shape, the pit entrance road is also on the right side. Just beyond, that square plot of land will be out pit complex/admin area. Left of that will be where the go kart track is.

Jacque will be flying in to check on progress and do another walk around with us in May.

Great driving Grant! Where is  the track located?

    Re: Cayman GT4

Guess this is where it is:

    https://www.google.se/maps/place/High+Plains+Raceway,+93301+US-36,+Deer+Trail,+CO+80105,+USA/@39.7311188,-103.8948941,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x876d74c72176d88f:0x82f1dfa02bff82f9?hl=sv-se

Nice driving Grant. Much smoother then the Speciale...

    Re: Cayman GT4

Thanks guys, my best lap of the day was 4 sec faster (had a 300 lb passenger on the Speciale lap and had plenty of fun getting him out of the LWB seat).  Car is way more fun with front Cup LCA's, front & rear toe links, and aggressive alignment).

The 991 Cup lower control arms are all spherical bearings (replacing all rubber) with caster adjustment.  Gives a little more steering feel and precision (and also a bit more noise and vibration).  Caster adjustment avoids the front wheels moving forward in the wheel well with lots of camber, -2.75 degrees, and equalizes right and left sides' caster that were unbalanced from factory).

    This is the track:

    http://highplainsraceway.com/

Best track I know of with respect to open availability (almost every week) and cheap ($100 for 6 hours).

Very nice driving Grant Smiley You surely had a good time.

If you don't mind one complaint, please don't use your phone to record the video next time Smiley. It looks as if the phone's camera is struggling to keep the focus. AFAIK you can couple a Gopro with Harry's Laptimer.

My phone wasn't properly secured - it's sometimes better than that.  But the Sapphire Blue GT4 (in the background of my photo above) had a better camera system - this lap of his is 0.2 sec better than my best yesterday and picture is much more stable:

Next Porsche Cayman GT4 to stick with flat-six engine - AutoExpress

Porsche bosses hint that new four-cylinder turbo for 718 Cayman will be shunned for hardcore next-gen GT4

The next GT4 version of Porsche’s new 718 Cayman is likely to stick with normally aspirated six-cylinder power, according to the boss of the German brand’s GT division.

The next generation of the Cayman will join its sister car, the 718 Boxster, in switching to a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, Andreas Preuninger, the boss of the Porsche division that produces the GT4 Cayman alongside the GT3, GT3 RS and new R versions of the 911, has suggested that his engineers are likely to stick with six cylinders for the next ‘ultimate’ Cayman.

“The Cayman GT4 has been a big success,” said Preuninger, “so you can imagine that we’re not about to dump that model. But the next Cayman is not necessarily all four-cylinder engines.” That could open up the next GT4 to feature even more power than the existing model’s 3.8-litre, 380bhp flat-six motor - although Preuninger added, “That car [the existing Cayman GT4] is all about driving pleasure, not necessarily outright power or speed.”

The GT4 is likely to remain the most potent Cayman, too. Preuninger admitted that Porsche’s engineers were “tempted” to build a GT4 RS edition but said, “The problem with that is that you end up with a car where you need to charge the same as a GT3 RS, so there’s no point. It’s not in the plan.”

Preuninger also revealed that the 911 R’s new six-speed manual gearbox is likely to be offered in the second generation of the 991 GT3. “I can certainly imagine this gearbox in the GT3,” he said. “There is some overlap, with the 911 R for purists and the GT3 RS for track day fans, and then the GT3 in the middle. Right now it’s just with PDK, but I can certainly imagine gen-2 GT3 getting this manual transmission.”

Does anyone have any contacts that I would be able to buy an OEM lightweight bucket seat for my GT4?  Doesn't have to say GT4 on the headrest.  I was a "victim" of the bucket shortage back in July 2015.
