I did the letter of intent with my UK OPC last February and gave him a call today follwing the RT revelations that the 2RS is a goer, my Porsche sales manager had heard nothing but he confirmed he had many letters of intent on all GT models and their selection process for who is allowed to buy one is decided by the very top management but they are very aware of and not too happy with the dealers and flippers who have suddenly become big GT Porsche fans.
So any guesses on the spec ?
I am thinking similar engine to current 991.2 turbo S with maybe 630/640PS torque capped at around 750NM ,The latest PDK combined with latest electronics and tyres should easily be able to deploy this level of torque and power, if it weighs in around 1450kg DIN it should be good for 0-200kph in sub 9s

well - we have 5 GT cars now but still he cannot reconfirm anything.... - if we don't get one we simply will buy a Mac again and he knows that. Porsche has clearly not yet sorted their program out and I don't want to go over a 918 owner....

Are you thinking less power ? I thought so too since the A91 is supposed to be good for about 600PS structurally (that is based on tests done on the 997 A91) but Porsche always like to give a bit more power than the older model so more than 620 - give us a clue

I think RC is absolutely right, the 9A1 based turbo engine is more or less maxed out at its current power level, so it is likely to be either a variant of the new 9A2 or a new development to be used in the 992 generation (and a basis for the RSR and future turbo-charged GT models a la GT2/RS).

It was mentioned here - GT2 RS will have some hybrid tech and total power of around 700 hp.
I think RC already hinted awhile ago that the motor could be similar to dry-sump 991 GT3 RS with turbos added...

A high revving turbo engine a la McLaren ? This is completely at odds with Porsche's philosophy so far on its street turbo engines, they have all been about big fat torque curves and max 6750 red limit - very confusing, but interesting !
