Mixed feelings as well, so far what I see is 991GT3 with rear wing delete and manual box... surely there has to be something more than that so that its special? Yes, the original R was a race homologation model to comply with minimum production rules. I think we all knew the "new" R is not a race homologation model, but we all dreamt of the features and specifications such a homologation model would imply for the 991.

The 991 R is more Cayman R than 1967 911 R in this sense Smiley

i like the center stripes, will look great in red. not digging the PORSCHE side stripe though. fine, so it is a GT3 with an RS engine, no spoiler (bad idea IMHO), annual transmission, stripes and funny cloth inserts in the seats. more to come or ....yawn.....is this it??

To be special and justify the price it would need to blow away the regular GT3 in some way. They would achieve that with an equivalent of the 458 SA by chopping the roof...

So what are we missing? Active aero? Old style targa top? Carbon tub? Smiley Rear seats?
