Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

Just heard only 30 cars for the German market this year... Does someone know if this is true? yes Since deliveries are rumored to start this month, this is not a lot of cars. How many worldwide then? 200? 300? Ouch.

Do we know the price yet?  If it costs ~$285k, how many do you think they could sell if no production limit?

Rumor indicated a base price of around 250k EUR but... Smiley Base price for the regular Huracan is 202k EUR or so as far as I remember.

If they really have only a very limited number of cars available, maybe the Performante is just another marketing trick to spotlight the Huracan again. Smiley Smiley Huracan facelift is due 2018 as far as I heard.

Most people claim its only limited by building speed, not production numbers.

Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

Two things i discovered. one was from the viper forum, dont know if its true or not:

As I understand it, this is not quite true. I currently own a Huracan. I was recently at my local Lambo dealer and we got into a discussion not the H Performante. The active aero system (ALA) was developed by Lamborghini and it is indeed supposed to be a game changer. What I was told is that Porsche wanted to see the designs of the aero system and Lambo would not give it up. There is a internal fight going on (both owned by VW). The shifts on my Huracan are absolutely crazy as a based model.

    Second is BTG conspiracy.

Anyone have any inside info on if that time was truly "fake"?

Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

6:52, regardless of the TroferoR or rollcage reduced weight strip down.  The fact is that 6:52 is an outstanding figure. The downforce and suspension set up must be the biggest cause of this 6:52, of course TroferoR does a lot of work!  WHAT A CAR!!!   I never had any respect for Huracan, but now!  its catching my attention!!!

LOVE the car......- as to the times - lots of people forget that tire technology has developed very fast the last years and all other brands would improve 4 seconds and more just getting the latest tires. so comparisons to old times are not fair at all.

Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

Interesting to see how that speed & rpm difference plays out...BTG could be on to something.

True. Smiley Maybe the new "benchmark" for Nordschleife lap times will be 7 min instead of the 7:30 min now.

If true, that would cast a shadow over this (probably fantastic) car and achievement. I don't understand why manufacturers would feel tempted to cheat at such attempts? Smiley

Because regular people don't really care and say wow, fanboys cheer to these records and say wow and the remaining 3% (us) don't really matter. Smiley Smiley

Very good publicity and clever marketing.

If the Huracan Performante does under 7:10 in the Sport Auto Supertest, I am going to be impressed. Totally shocked even if it does under 7 minutes.

Btw: It is no secret that almost all manufacturers prepare chassis setups and tire pressures specifically for the Nordschleifen run of the Supertest, so these numbers should be taken with a grain of salt. If the cars are faster than 7:30 min on the Nordschleife, they're definitely a part of a very exclusive performance road cars breed. A second more or less in comparison doesn't say much and most non-professional drivers can consider themselves happy if they achieve under 8 minutes in these cars.

Seats look nice - not too crazy about the interior otherwise...

If they are the same as the SV seats, they are apparently the worst seats ever created.

I sat in a 610-4 that had those optional seats before I bought my Huracan and whilst they look good they are without doubt the most uncomfortable seats in a production car that I have sat in. They have almost no padding, have very high sides which makes entry and exit more difficult and the backrest angle is fairly unforgiving. I thought the race seats in the Gallardo Superleggera were pretty bad but these make them seem quite luxurious in comparison

Yes, I know. Audi offers the same seats as an option and after 10 minutes, you get a backache. Maybe they improved them for the Performante? Smiley

Very interesting analysis with a few valid points. I still do not think that Lamborghini faked this though. It would ruin them if it got out. The video was very likely edited at some points, which of course could raise some suspicion.

I guess we need to wait for the first reviews, I don't trust these "record" runs from manufacturers anyway.

Re: Huracán Performante in "6.52 something" at the Ring?

Why should I lie? I really like the Huracan Performante a lot, the interior is just a dream come true (that Alcantara/forged composite combo is exactly how I pictured the interior of my perfect fun car) and while I'm not a big fan of that monstrous wing, I like the car a lot (still need to see the final product though). 640 hp, 45 kg less weight, it won't be much faster than my current R8 but this is not the point of this car. If the track performance is even close to that posted Nordschleife record time, this is going to be an amazing fun car for many. I'm envious. blush

Hmm, on the official lambo video, can anyone see both the fake speedo and the actual dashboard speedo?  Because if you see that white line on the actual speedo, thats the true tacho.  It seems to move quite a bit slower than the one on the left.  Let me know what you think?

The background for this video are many posts that claim that Lamborghini has just increased the speed of the video to produce the claimed lap time. Apparently, if you compare speeds in many parts of the track you can prove that Lamborghini cheated by speeding up the video Smiley

Comparing the SV video to the Performante video, it seems like the SV is almost always quicker than the Performante.

The time was already unbelievable, and now these videos seem to call it into question as well...

I looked at the actual 918 video, and I noticed on the real tacho, the speed is 230-235kph, while the video he uses, has it at 255kph.  He's using the wrong tacho and the wrong video.Smiley
