I've had a fair few Cayennes John plus a couple of X5s and more recently a short stint in a Macan turbo followed by a long period with a Range Rover Sport. I thought the Maserati might be an interesting choice but I think I will give it a miss and hold out for the Alfieri coupe as my next Maserati. I just hop they stay much closer to the exterior design ofthe concept with that car.
Feels very Infitini to me . Iain my favorite SUV you've had in the recent years was your red Evoque, you specced that exactly as I would've.

Maserati Levante
Maserati reveals the exterior form of the Maserati Levante, the first SUV in the brand's more than one hundred year history: the new model completes the existing range of saloon and sports cars, extending the offering together with the Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabrio models.
The design of the Levante features clear associations with the Maserati brand and its distinctive Italian character: the aggressive front introduces new, tapered headlights separated into two elements, with the upper headlight unit connected to the radiator grille. Maserati's design signature is clearly visible on the sides: the three iconic air vents on the front wings, the trapezoidal C-pillar with the "Saetta" logo and the large, frameless door windows. The rear is dominated by the very tapered back window and streamlined shape, both typical of a high-performance sports car.
At a technical level, the Maserati Levante's chassis is designed to combine the outstanding on-road performance typical of every Maserati with unrivalled handling even on very low-grip surfaces and an excellent off-road performance and ride. The new SUV boasts a high level of content as standard, with all versions featuring: sophisticated electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs, which can be set on several levels, "Q4" intelligent all-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission specially calibrated for the brand's new SUV.
When it comes to power units, the Maserati Levante is equipped with both petrol and diesel engines that are all Euro6-compliant.
The Maserati Levante is built at the Mirafiori plant in Turin; the first cars have already come off the assembly line with the launch planned for spring 2016 in Europe, to be followed by the rest of the world in late 2016.

Infinity/Mazda rip off, looks terrible.. nothing special to it (apart the fancy badge) so I guess it'll sell like hot cakes

Well there is not much you can invent with suv, gney look all the same, and also this one is nothing special, not my cup of tea, it is nothing you get exited for, i agree with isuk, lets get the alfieri when it will arrive and hopefully so similar as possible to the comcept which was one of the most beautiful cars in modern design ever, saw it , touch it, and so far no modern car looks that good, it is something from another planet compared to what is around today.

It is quite an achievement to ruin the much cleaner and more simplistically styled taught surface treatment of the Geneva show car. The production headlights and huge round foglights totally kill any pretense of an upmarket, exclusive car IMHO. Like the Gran Turismo, the original show car had clean flowing lines that you could see a designer sketching in a flowing motion. The rear design has been turned from something genuinely fresh and interesting to a generic rehash of many other SUV designs. The opportunity to strike out in a stylish, confident and bold Italian manner has been missed by a mile.
I sincerely hope that the calamity that is the man from Canada in the black wooly jumper, does not interfere in the design of this beautiful car. If they trash the front and rear with similar lights to the Levante in the German led obsession with creating a "family" look it would be a crime.

This is exactly my opinion, I'm into older cars at the moment, just bought a Bentley T2 that i will restore, and already talked to the local Maserati dealer that if they do the alfieri like that I will make the downpayment immediatly, it is just so beautiful don0t care much if it not that fast like the other....just love this car.

Looks like any generic Japanese/Korean SUV out there on the market. No way I would get this thing, even with 600 hp. The current engine choices are a joke anyway.

Normaly it is like what you say, but since they got so many worldwide compliments for the car I really hope that they do it so similar as possible. I know that show cars don't take care of undustry costs , practical solutioms etc... but i really don't see a car as beautiful like this anywhere in todays car production.

The expression that comes to mind is, "Move along, nothing to see here." No point in lingering to look at this ugliness. This design has no redeeming value as far as I'm concerned. This is from the company that gave use the Khamsin, Bora, and Quattroporte of that era? Hopefully these pictures will help erase the trauma.

Those are all classics to me, beautiful cars from this era. These new SUVs will drop to zero in both value in history importance.

You are absolutely right, I just love that old quattroporte....I think that they will make a big miss with that SUV , and this is not good for the company, since they have done bad with Ghibli and the last quattroporte.
Hope they will sell good in order to have money to make the beautiful Alfieri.....
