Prices will suck for sure, I see for how much the Ghibli goes in Germany and it is way too expensive in my opinion.
I was looking at the Jaguar F-Pace yesterday but I do not really "get" how big (or small) this SUV is. Is it more Cayenne or Macan sized? I like how it looks, the available options are also impressive but the engine choices suck. The most powerful engine is a supercharged V6 with 380 hp, not really good enough for a 2 ton SUV. I expected at least a V8 with 450 hp (maybe soon?). I optioned one and it ended up at 92k EUR, fully loaded (380 hp version). Not bad but no bargain either. Still cheaper than that Q7 I optioned at over 100k EUR and with "only" 333 hp.

Car magazine had a good review of the F Pace last month. It is 4731mm long which slots between the XE (4672mm) and XF (4954mm) saloons. They initially benchmarked it against the BMW X4 but when the Macan came out they switched to that instead. The article in the magazine suggested the interior space makes the car fall somewhere between the Macan and Cayenne. There will almost certainly be an SVO version to take on the Macan turbo further down the line.

Heard today that a 550-560 hp bi-turbo V8 could follow as a forth engine choice next year or later this year.
Interesting but probably at a huge premium. The Levante base model starts at 65k EUR in Germany. Ouch.
If I had to choose between a Cayenne Turbo and a Levante Turbo V8 for the same money, I would always choose the Porsche.

That's what I heard from people who saw it in the factory.
SciFrog:They will sell enough to current Maserati owners and people who don't care too much about how it drives and want something that looks nice and different. Basically the G wagon soccer mom crowd.
I wish my wife would be a G wagon soccer mom...she hates the G class.

Your wife has sense and you might be disappointed if you got one. The G drives like a tall short truck. For you it's electronic saviours would be working overtime anytime you pressed the gas and moved the steering wheel. You might as well get a Hemi Dodge Power Wagon, supercharge it and just ram other cars to make your own parking place or just drive over them.
Lars997:This Maserati might be cool but much to small. I hate micro SUVs, whats the point? A SUV must be sturdy and big.
It seems there's a market for them.

That's true. There is for sure a market for them. And probably most people are happy with the smaller size. For us the SUV is a family car and we need that space. Last week we went back from the airport with 6 full size suite cases and 3 trolleys - I could pack them all into the SRT trunk. This is super comfortable. And while the Q7 and GLS might having even a bigger space, the SRT still is a bit shorter and easier to handle in the city. The competition Cayenne, X5, ML, RRS, are not able to carry that much bags int he trunk.
The smaller SUV are not to replace the big ones, they replaced the "second" city car... There is a huge market for them and it's getting bigger. Was looking at my parking office last week and 2/3 of the vehicles were crossover or full size SUV. And with gas cheap again, people revert to what they really want: SUVs.
Take the case of the Macan: why does a sedan does better than it? Nothing. The difference between driving a Panamera and a Macan is not worth the extra 30% Porsche wants for it.
