Thanks guys, I will report further as things happen through the process. I will be doing factory collection on the 430 and hopefully as I have an order in for a 599 I will also get the chance to learn more in depth about that car. I must say Ferrari in the UK has been very helpful and efficient throughout the whole process. A welcome contrast to recent experiences with Porsche. And I'm not knocking, just speaking as I find. Ferrari people really do all seem very passionate and excited about this new car which is a great sign of what to expect in my opinion, since we would normally expect those guys to take it in stride as just another Ferrari.

Why I think London vs EU arb may be easier is....I know couple of London car nuts who bought wkend houses in Munich region to keep their more interesting cars, for easy access to autobahn/mtn twisties/NItaly&SFrance.....

Would think, in worst case, if a London guy bought a new F in EU, could trade it in back on Continent for next new F....sort of like NYC guys who ship their F's btwn their E/SHampton and PalmBch houses, depending on season, even though they may have a long-standing relationship w/Miller in Greenwich, CT.....though EU has many bitter nationalistic rivalries, I suspect many US states are similarly puzzled by the affluent who may have 3-4 houses in difft states....and driver's license and car plates/regs from various states.....

Given places in EU like France even struggled to sell their Enzo allocs, I suspect similar maldistribution will exist for 599 in certain major mkts like London/NYC/SF....

Have heard from my SF F dealer that 599 may be first non-Enzo lvl model where he will struggle to get copies in hands of his longstanding, serial new F customers during the entire produc life of the 599, let alone early in the model run....

Given all the lofty prelim expecs, the $325K 599 may be challenged to sufficiently outperform humble poss competitors like the lowly, mass-produc $150K 997TT in both dry/wet and straight-line/twisties quant/qual parameters.....

VK, by the time it gets here, it may not even be any quicker or faster than the new Corvette coming out. I love the Enzo engine in the 599, but the car does have a LB problem (read fat actress lurking around Jenny Craig)compared to a Z06.

For the price difference, you can corner the Alcantara futures market or fly over some very polite RR craftsmen to slather its lowly GM vinyl over with Connally leather.

You would still have enough $$ left over to angel fund 2
geeks with a new search engine or a 3G wireless gambling app.

If you want I could check with my dealer regarding the delivery time of the 599GTB in Germany. He might manage to get a car for US export?

I plan on seeing him soon in any case

However, I have decided to wait with a potential order until the car is available for a test drive this summer

BTW: Nice motor bikes are available even cheaper than the Corvettes. And they are also very fast

I had the same thought but by that time there may be a lot more orders down meaning an even longer delay. It is a hefty deposit required but I guess that is to determine who is genuine. My dealer has said to me that in the event I drive the car and do not like it, he will return my deposit in full. So I'm cool with that
