Auction has ended, slightly over 100k USD, reserve not met. Told you. Smiley

Actually, I am surprised that people didn't bid more, this is an official Porsche dealer from Houston. Smiley Weird.

For 150k, I would have bought the car (as an American). For 100k? You have to be delusional to think that the dealer is going to sell you this car for so little money.

    Hi guys,

    I need some help:

I don't have my car available as it is stored for the winter and need to know exactly how wide the car is at the front and rear tires: This to know what kind of trailer I need.

Outside rubber to outside rubber of the front and rear wheels...

    Appreciated!

I can tell you that Monday if you still need it by then.

Very strange. Specially knowing how many people in the US want that car. Maybe they were not aware of it Smiley  of afraid of a scam ...

usually in Internet auctions the heat starts in the last moments , actually it might of as it went from 75k to 100k but they just bid weigh too low.

    Maybe additional auction fees/taxes?
I know that in the Netherlands, when buying a car from the state auctions for example (cars taken from criminals, etc), you have to take into account some 10%-20% additional auction fees and then the tax collector comes by as well... Maybe it is similar in the US, or was the bid of $100k including auction fees?

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Personally, I think having a hidden reserve expects too much of the bidder.  I won't bid on items with hidden reserves as a matter of principle (unless I really, really want them and price is basically no object).  I understand that the idea is to generate bidding excitement by starting the bids low and allowing the interest to build, but on a commodity like a production car, with a published MSRP?  The RS may be in limited numbers but they are not original Rembrandts.

If the seller wants (needs) a reserve I certainly respect that, but make it public or count me out.

Indeed. Strange but how could they think this is a scam when an official Porsche dealer is having the auction? Also, they bid up to over 100k, so... Weird.

Women seem to love this color... I met with a couple of people a few weeks ago and there were mostly lave orange RS but only one ultraviolett car. The women with the guys were allover this car, the others were really jealous. Smiley Smiley

Women also dig cabs...that ultraviolett RS and my GTS were their favorites. Smiley

I really started to dig ultraviolett but I would have gotten the rims and wing supports in black (probably a matter of personal taste).

    Congratulations!!! Wonderful car! Smiley Smiley

Thanks guys. My 1st choice was black (PTS) but coming late to the order game deprived me from that option and I was only stuck with the 4 standard colors. For a while I was contemplating the option of black wheels, however I was somewhat growing out of "dark wheels" syndrome which I think is plaguing the majority of sports cars/sedans today. Not that I mind but i think there are way too many around nowadays therefore I opted for brighter wheels (old school).

Lol.. I was a bit reluctant to post the Barney's pics at 1st.

Beleive it or not, I have yet to see the car in the flesh despite my dealer being less than 100 miles away from where I'm at right now. The car arrived more than a week ago and I want to see it however the "dying to see" factor is not there anymore.. I guess age plays a big role on these matters.

Yeah, you are too old. You should trade in the RS for a Lexus. More age appropriate. Lexus are for people waiting to go into their coffins. Smiley

Nothing against old school and I agree, black wheels seem to become a standard but I still like them. Smiley

i just got the email from the dealer with possible pick up dates at zuffenhausen at the end of february. unfortunately i can do end of march the earliest due to travels to saudi, hongkong, japan....need to see whether i can squeeze out a few days in february though:::))))

also i am a bit worried about the possibility of snow at the end of february (also at the end of march).

I think there is a bigger risk of snow in March than in February, at least according to my past experience in Bavaria. Smiley

Even early/mid April, there can be snow. You never know.

February is usually a "calm" month with cold temperatures but sunny and not much snow.

Could someone kindly let me know if the "GT3 RS" inner door strips are carbon by default, or you have to choose 'illuminated carbon strips' to get the carbon?
