Not Grant, but I'll say it depends on how fast this corner is. If you are only going 20mph and the uphill is severe, then it can feel a bit sluggish until revs get to 4.5k or above . In those situations, a downshift to 1st is worthwhile. With rev match, pretty easy to get into 1st, though it's not as easy as 2nd.
On a leisurely drive on say "The Snake" / Mulholland (you may be familar with this road), I don't really feel the need to use 1st even though the turns are super tight. But that's also because I don't use much power on such a road.

Can you report yet on pulling out of uphill 2nd gear corners?
Still haven't received my car stateside. In Swiss Alps, I actually used 1st gear for some of the steep uphill switchbacks (double clutch downshifts - combo of manual blip in neutral and auto-rev into 1st).
2nd gear is about 10.5 mph per 1,000 rpm - so 2nd gear is much too tall for that (use 1st instead). Motor doesn't really come alive until 4,500 rpm (47 mph in 2nd).

My car arrived at dealer 2 days ago (not the dealer from whom I bought it - out of state). Was going to sit on the extra parking lot indefinitely - glad I called today. Pick it up tomorrow, but dropping it for a clear bra immediately (snow coming on Saturday). Won't get to drive it til next week at earliest...

I'm thinking las flores canyon steep uphill hairpin [or piuma] 15 mph exit speed on water and or gravel over pavement -- the classic place all the pre-991 GT3's bogged down in 2nd, and the classic place that made strads and scuds so well geared and so much fun. I cant find the shift speeds for gt4 anywhere - what is redline mph in 1st gear? Im presuming one can run first to 60 mph+ then shift to 2nd around 5k like we did on the old GT3's until we got sick of it 
and bought another scud.
I do see max torque starts at 4750 which ties with yours and Grant's liftoff mid-4's....

You'll definitely want to briefly down-shift to 1st for that (I recommend my combo Manual-Auto double-clutch method). First gear redlines at 47 mph.

Do you really have to do all that to get it in 1st smoothly ? this sound from another age . Even on a non automatic rew matching car I manage to get into first quite smoothly just by heal toeing ( or just manual new matching ) Ok, on some of the boxes the change is a little slow as you can't push the 1st gear in too quickly because it is harder .
But on the Gt4 gearbox , the auto rev matching is supposedly there to make the gear drop a piece of butter and instant

Congrats WAY - 3 month wait for shipping, that's a seriously long wait. Is it a very slow boat indeed, must have made several stop offs en route.
So how many rennteamers so we have now have with a delivered car?

It will go into first gear with the Auto-Rev match alone, but at anything over very slow speeds, it goes in much smoother with a double-clutch (much less work for the synchros).
