    I've had two bad experiences shipping brand new BMW's with Intercity - however, FedEx has a division that does auto transport and is reputed to be stellar.

    I've had great experience with Intercity....I shipped a 911 from Palo Alto to Dallas, door to door a few years ago and it cost $1000.

    The cost was about $2400, delivered right to my door....

    I just used Intercity to ship a car from Las Vegas to Chicago, cost $1390. They were very good, except a little slower to pickup than expected. Driver was very competent and careful.

    I use Reliable Carriers almost exclusively, they seem to be the favorite among private collectors.

    Drive of a lifetime?? Once you get to New Mexico, Colorado or Wyoming (depending on the route you sketch) it's a breathtaking drive. The only problem, is getting past the desire to put a bullet through your noggin somewhere between those states and Florida. Driving across Texas or Oklahoma or Kansas can induce a coma.
