Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

I will be away for 9 days and my car will be left in the garage. Would it be a problem when I come back? For e.g., drained battery from alarm? Any tip on what to do? I rather not give the key to someone else to start it from time to time...

9 days is fine, no problem whatsoever.
    Leave in peace man
    Start worrying from three weeks.
One week if it's a Ferrari, two for a Maserati.
Best advice is to have someone drive it about 30 minutes every week, that's what I do, I sometimes don't come home for more than a month, this way, you're safe.
Or you can unplug the battery but that means reinitialise everything again when you switch it back on, pain.

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

Just buy an Optimate 3, plug it in and forget about it for months. I use one on my Ferrari, fantastic product.

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

I came back last weekend from a three weeks away and it started first time - the only thing I had to do was change the clock to summer time!

After that long driving an Avis Chevy Impala it felt just like the first time getting back into the Boxster and taking it for a run

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

looks like Porsche is really practical and durable than? 3 weeks? I am impressed.

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

6 weeks for my 2003 Boxster S in a nicely heated garage without a problem (I don't switch the alarm on).

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

9 days is nothing. I can't even start to understand why you're worried.

If the car had problems after sitting 9 days in the garage, I'd recommend you to get another car

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

4 weeks not a problem - just remember not to open the car with the remote, but with the key (to do after 5 days anyway)...

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

Porsche 6 weeks no problem at all.

    Ducati 5 days without optimate....dead.

I've just had 3 months being white van man, commuting from the New Forest to Portsmouth 7 days a week. Haven't used the Boxster much THIS YEAR But that contract is over now Wightlink's car ferries are all sorted for the holiday season, weather is getting warmer and the car will seem even more special. I've kept it alive this winter courtesy of Porsche's charge-o-mat 2 which works brilliantly. Just lifting a door handle with the car locked triggers it to go from standby to charge mode briefly.

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

Just make sure you get someone to feed your pets and water your plants, but you can safely forget about your Porsche for that short absence.

I wouldn't recommend this either - give me the keys and I drive it 24/7 for all nine days. Don't have to worry about a drained battery anymore.

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

how about 4 months? cause i am planning to do that..

Re: Going away for 9 days, what precautions to take

    Your Boxster looks awesome. WOW
