Had dinner with another Porsche nuts friend. He told me about this site called 'Rennteam'. He said he especially enjoys the GT3RS thread, the banter between Super Darius and Whoopsy about their wait on the RS, told me everything written.
He didn't put 2 and 2 together. Until now.
Haha.
Whoopsy:WAY:Whoopsy it was the 918 thread. But anyway nice helmet! I might look into getting myself one too. Been awhile since I've bought myself one.
Stand21 is the company that makes all Porsche Motorsports racing gear.
No alpine stars signed the contract with Motorsport since this year. Stand21 is gutted.

SportCarGroup:Have you seen these?
I had those in my hands yesterday ....... was at the Stand21 factory, which is very close to the Dijon track . In real life, the orange is less orange then on this photo .
I ordered a pair , but not in orange, and not with the GT3 Rs inscription !

Since this year? Didn't know that. Back in August when I check with PMNA on the Porsche Motorsports merchandises they sent me to Stand21. Perhaps the Alpine Stars stuff are starting next year's racing season?
If that's the case, maybe I will call up Stand21 again and see if there are any clearance sales on the Porsche stuff :)

Yes, and I prefer the alpine stars race suit design.

Don't know if anybody had posted this yet....
Chris Harris' latest review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58j0Mmj41m0
With McLaren only given them 6 years to get to this stage is extremely impressive in this segment. especially Chris Harris now gives such impressive credit to 650S which I think it deserved...... inarguably 650S has the strongest body, and nicest ride quality. after an year ownership myself, I don't see any other cars out there(at the moment) doing a better job, other than its 675LT.... 488 again is a bit too soft and not quick enough on hitting big corners, no balance at the back... seems to break loose at the back end all the time..... body seems to be too soft to my taste... suppose carbon tub does come in a big factor of this. Once driven carbontub cars, can not go back.... the turbolag seems to be exactly the same as 650S. However, I find Chris harris' video on GT3RS against 650S surprised me the most.... I would never expect GT3RS would do any slower than 650S.... suppose those break steer needed to get used to inorder to master this car, which I think after few month of his test drive, he finally gets it. I personally find it too neutral on the steering.... its not a bad thing, especially u are working on each corners, u need to feel balanced. however, GT3 gives me more fun to push the car to the edge more.... I am sure GT3RS pushes even further at the edge. Just don't understand and dont' beleive GT3RS would do slower than 650S on smaller track like this........ I find his result skeptical.... but again, it is what it is..... Perhaps giving him GT3RS for few month and run the test again, it should do better.....

No doubt that Stand 21 makes high quality stuff, but I am not sure I always like their design, specially when it comes to the boots which I find odd.For boots I prefer Alpinestars or OMP. Have the Stand 21 gloves which are ok, and the underwear which is top notch.

Well, I think what is most important is which car is most fun to drive and I get the impression that he enjoyed the GT3RS more than the 650S.
Whoopsy:From left to right: Trakcar, Porker, Gnil, DaveGordon, Grant. Right?
This picture shows just how big the new RS's rear wing is, dwarfs even Porker's wing!
Correct! Car looks amazing, Kobalt!!

Harris as gone over to the dark side - the force is strong in him. But he now loves Mclaren more than anything in life itself....

I guess the deal was simple : u get the 650 for 3 month if you do a nice comparison at the end.....he delivered - no words about the horrible resale value of "them" - and to make it interesting you add a 150ukp RS and mark it up to 250k 2nd hand value to get more clicks...... I am a true CH fan - but this comparison was ridiculous......what's next ? a Ferrari 250 GTO comparison to a P1 with the question is the ferrari worth 30 times the McLaren ???? - the RS and Aston will be worth the same Price in 10 years - whereas a 650 will have lost 80% of it's value.....
Chris Harris is from the UK, he lives there. McLaren builds fantastic cars, no doubt about it. Chris Harris is human too and he loves cars, so just do the math and do 1 + 1 and you get it. This doesn't mean Chris Harris isn't honest or he cannot be trusted. This simply means that Chris Harris made a decision for himself and I understand him very well. In his job, driving such a car privately (sort of) isn't easy to achieve. Again, I am just assuming things here, no facts involved. I do not judge him, I would probably do the same in his position, especially since McLaren really builds some nice cars.

Lets be clear here, CH review 3 cars from a usability and driver experience perspective and concluded with the right result which is to state that the McLaren is the better car out of the lot. Bear in mind that I'm a Porsche guy through and through but lets face facts, the 650S is much more better than the RS !!!

Better for what exactly? For the Autobahn? Yes, no doubt about it. For the track? Not so sure. For some fine country roads with lots of twists and turns, not so sure about the 650S either.
You are actually confirming what I said before: CH is from the UK, so... (please do not misunderstand me but a little bit of local patriotism never hurt, especially if it helps getting closer to a manufacturer).
Even if the 650S would be much more better for whatever purpose, don't forget that you get a GT4 for the price difference between the GT3 RS and the 650S. Just saying...
