    A friend told me that he is on a list to get one and it will take up to 18 months.

    Please note that the question asked was when will deliveries started, which was answered.  This is independent of where one is on a list at a particular dealership.  Of course, with MY 2017 production under 3,000 units, according to reports.  The quoted deliver time for this order is early next year.

    I'm more disappointed with the design of the car: The front looks like new Audi R8, the sideline looks like McLaren and the rear looks like Aston Martin. yes It is a nice looking car though and the tech is interesting but it doesn't play in the same league as others and this is what the real problem is, considering it's price tag.

    As a tech concept demo product, why not?!

    Today I drop the Cayenne at Porsche Estoril for maintenance. The reception desk has an amazing view over the Estoril circuit. While I was there Honda team was at Estoril circuit testing the NSX and also making several promoting videos. I can assure you this Honda is REAL fast. Car in the picture made several laps and seemed to hold together quite well while braking and turning. Tires were probably CUP reference, over the famous Parabolica turn, it would handle amazingly even after several laps.

     

    Last March BMW team was there testing the new M4 GT3, and on the straights the Honda was faster than GT3, I was really impressed by the way this car easily build up speed over the straights.

    The car is ridiculously under-powered for this era of cars and its price tag.

    It traps at like 123mph in the low 11s. Take away the AWD launch and the acceleration looks even worse. Without the Trofeo R, it would be even worse with lap times.

    The car needs like 100-200hp more.

    The NSX is almost 200k EUR in Germany (with ceramic brakes).

    For this kind of money, people expect better performance...or a lower price tag.

    For 150k EUR, the NSX in it's current form could be interesting. For 200k? No way.

    Honda is dumb: They should have started into this market slowly, with a lower price tag. Then, after they see how things are going, they should have added more power and a higher price tag.

    Now it seems that the NSX will be "done" before it actually started. What a shame.

    The problem is really just that the car took way too long to enter production. It's like the LFA -- they showed it forever, and when it finally came out, the performance wasn't anything amazing because they took so long.

    When did we first see the NSX at an autoshow? 4-5 years ago?

    Spend a moment and think about this: 

    I understand you are saying that the NSX is way to slow for its performance.

    Well - if you check the top three of the list at least two of them are way too expensive for its performance. And actually - the Z06 seems to be by far the best buy?

    I guess we weren't referring to the track time only. 

    Yes, the Z06 is an excellent offer but I would wait for that rumored mid engined successor.

    The NSX just started off the wrong foot in my opinion but I cannot see how Honda (Acura) can correct it.

    The 911R doesn't have much to write home about. And it costs MORE than the NSX.

    Interesting to note that quite a few of my 918 friends bought the NSX, one of them also test and tuned it for Honda. According to him the 'public' testing times was quite a bit off their own test times. Seems like there is a secret agenda out there against the car.

    Even with the shitty stock Continental tires, 0-60 of the car comes up at 3.0 second or less, that's from a number of cars across the country. 

    None ordered the optional Cup2s as those were N/A when they ordered. 

    Anyway, the current for sale NSX is only the base model, something better is coming.

    This is very interesting to read. What made those guys buying that car - limitation or the very advanced drive train?

    Some of these guys are like car whores, they will buy anything and everything.smiley

    But some buy it because of the technology, they share my view that the NSX is a 918-lite.

    A few was convinced by the Honda guy about the car during development and ordered it, they have no regrets.

    Lastly another few had the original NSX, so buying the new one is a no brainer.

    You can make that argument for a lot of cars which cost substantially less. The R had more hp, weighs less than the GT3 and cost about $70,000 more and yet the GT3 out performs it.Smiley
