I'd have real difficulties not to slap that passenger in the face, what is he doing talking so much to a driver at these speeds.

Chris Harris on Cars: "LaFerrari vs Porsche 918 vs McLaren P1 at Portimao..."
(...turn up the volume...)
"All three hypercars at the wonderful Portimao circuit. Each of them from the respective factories. Lap times, sliding around, smiling and then a track-battle with the legends Tiff Needell and Marino Franchitti. The very best of days."

Good watch but lacking the decisive punchline. Looks like Franchitti and Harris want to be able to enjoy access to the respective manufacturers for a long time to come . More seriously, it reinforces the fact that they are all great cars with individual nuances, and any preference is down to individual taste or should I say brand loyalty.
Seems like the 918 earned everyone's respect (but not so much an emotional connection with its driving characteristics). P1 and LaF look to be the ones that are really a blast to drive.

That is true it was the early underdog but it just overachieves and no one else underestimate it anymore.
It is a exciting car to drive that's for sure, but it does everything so well, especially in the dry, it can be called clinical.
Opinions aside, that's probably the best car video I've ever seen. Never witnessed journos enjoying what they were doing so much in my life. Maybe the final verdict is just that - they are all impressive in their own ways. Maybe there doesn't have to be a winner...

bottom line is this : any well engineered car should always " feel" and " drive " like its namesake brand ( if the brand is worth anything ) as is the case here and as it should be ...interweb " bench racing numbers " are fleeting from day to day , hour to hour , lap to lap and driver to driver
cars are long-development cycle complicated manufactured products and must also fit into the maker's " branding " envelop carefully curated over decades ...that is why the overarching comments on this comparo is " three very different driving cars that achieve the same result " ...as expected .
Franchitti says it best ...buy all three and enjoy each ... like several have done ...and whose owners are too busy enjoying their stables of cars , boats, planes, watches, art , homes etc., to waste a minute of any day on whiner " car boards " !

No girlfriend huh?
Jokes aside, did you guys notice how much of a handful the LaF is in the hands of Tiff compared to the P1 in the hands of Harris? I would not want to be driving the LaF at the limit. Far too scary to me. The 918 remains my fav as it just does everything so well, but the emotional winner would have to be the LaF. That sound, OMG! If I had the means, I would buy the 918 and the LaF. No interest in the P1 whatsoever.

Could be he doesn't last 52 minutes with the girlfriend.
JesseBank:No girlfriend. Wife. Which explains the comment perfectly...
Jokes aside, she's a wonderful woman, but 52 minutes? Come on.

A good duration to enjoy the slow starter before moving on to the main course

there is a reason why most lovers these days insist that any potential long term mates come with " stability / yaw control " and "traction control " as standard equipment but are often ambilvalent when it comes to the old school " four on the floor " stick.

Not to say your conclusion is wrong, but some of that is Tiff's driving style (of an unfamiliar car at that) vs Chris. You want to compare Chris vs Chris driving the two cars in the Corsas. Then the difference is less.
Funny how Ferrari claims 0-300 in 15 seconds. Didn't get anywhere close that in the other video
