BjoernB:Heard that the first year production is sold out already - impressive !
I don't really think the Bentayga is ugly, it may be a bit too classic, too boring for my taste. Like Porsche's first attempt with the Cayenne. Maybe Bentley was a bit too cautious here but if it is really sold out for a year, maybe they did everything right?!

Shaich:I really need to admit that I expected this car to be . but sadly I really have to say that its just disappointing . I think RC nailed it with the comparison of the first Cayenne. Looks to me like a overdone Q7(in my opinion not very tasteful)

such a disappointment!
The Bentley range consists of cars that are not readily attractive, especially the four doors. Their style is more of an acquired taste and the new SUV follows this pattern. Someone who likes the Continental 4 door or the Mulsanne will also like the Bentayga.
I think the Bentayga is mainly addressed to the Bentley faithful rather than to the typical premium SUV buyers.

I like the Continental GT Coupe. A lot. In my opinion this car has a timeless design. Not so sure why the Bentley designers haven't succeeded the same with other products.

This might be the only modern Bentley that is generally appealing. The 4 door is a styling disaster IMO for a car of this class and price range.

I'm a big fan of the GT. Not so crazy about the Fllying Spur but it seems it's doing well. The Mulsanne is ok but it's being eebutchered by RR.
The Bentayga is just a super lazy effort. It's like they are not even trying anymore. Can't believe Tata managed to create a better car and in less time than Bentley.

Not really a very good design, too many foreign design elements (Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche, etc.), there is no continuity. It is an interesting concept as a basis for a future design language but it is far from the perfection of the GT Continental Coupe in my opinion.

A local specialist has a 2009 metallic granite one with saddle leather for sale. Asking too much, but it's near brand new (20k km) and the want is very VERY strong.
I like the new Mulsanne and am almost used to the very ugly front lights. If they cleaned those up a bit more it would be a spectacular car. But I've always been a Bentley guy from when I was a kid and my dad had a Turbo R. Epic car back then.

It has some great points but some parts which don't fit. the interior is by far the best I've ever seen though. Jewel like, like a Pagani but more tasteful.

SciFrog:Funny no one mentioned the high price vs the GT... I was expecting prices to be on par but that's not the case...
Bentley apparently thinks that many customers will prefer the Bentagaya over the GT and they could be right. Actually, with the Bentagaya, many customers won't need a GT anymore because the Bentagaya is two cars in one. At least I think this is the logic behind the higher price tag.

People here prefer the flying spur over the GT
The Flying Spur isn't that bad but if I had to choose a sedan in this price category, I would probably prefer the RR Ghost.

I think when Bentley introduced the GT it was really a great LUXURY COUPE, the Flying Spur was IMO nice but never had that special something the GT had, it looked like they made an almost perfect coupe and tried to do from that base a sedan, worked just partly IMO. TBH the last facelifts from Bentley are just horrible, the rear ends are just ugly. What a shame that they ruined such nice car like the GT and also the sedan. I think the direction that they are headed to is not that good...
i believe the bentayga design and concept are developed for a certain clientele to which it will appeal.
i doubt that their aim with looks and pricing strategy was to attract customers from other brands.
given the numbers they produce, and the fact that the first year allocations are sold, they pretty much nailed it.
i find that while the lines are quite conservative it is still too ostentanious.
nevertheless, definitely the best SUV out there at the moment putting looks and price aside.
