SciFrog:The car was silver... Boring...
I like black or grey met. best for the AMG GT. I've also seen a white one with black wheels, looked good as well. Saw a yellow and a red one as well but they looked weird, didn't like them at all.

sfo:fritz:sfo:MKW:those bumps are just wrong
I assume that that's a car specced for the USA market. Porsche used to have to add similar bumpers to the rear ends of 911s to enable compliance with a test (referred to as the "pole test?") imposed by the US car insurance industry.
991s have no such bumps, you would expect the AMG GT (newer than 991) to have addressed this issue
IIRC, the "bumperettes" were dropped from 911s at the transition from the 996.2 to the 997.1 models.

m4ever:Fritz - I think they dropped them from 997.2 to 991 . (I still have the "ugly" bumperettes on my 997.1 Club Coupe)
Could well be. I just remembered that they'd been dropped at some stage after the 996 and I never read an explanation of what had been changed to make that possible.

The front brake calibers on this Carrera are looking changed and bigger.
The pipes are looking to much like Audi.... I don't like them yet.

I would hazard a guess that is just poor journalism in assuming the the GTS is a "GT" car...

That would explain the discrepancy compared with what we have read elsewhere up until now.

some have asked for at least the OPTION of factory matte black targa hoop ...looks like instead they will give us an option of a RED HAIRED toupee
MKW:some have asked for at least the OPTION of factory matte black targa hoop ...
Slightly OT so apologies but there is a current model targa for sale at a dealership in the UK that has had the targa roll bar cover painted gloss black. It would likely look better on a lighter coloured car.
As much as I love the blue color of the car - this black bar is taking away all the Targa appearance. Like this it looks almost like a convertible - all the glamour of the Targa is gone IMO.
Agree - on a different color it might look better, but then again - the Targa bar looks best in traditional style - brushed steel - not even in aluminum. And - nowadays it should be easy to put a foil on it to give it the right look.
