MMD, you are right. I stay away from leather cleaners as much as I can period. They will make the leather look shiny.
My car is a weekend driver so hardly any son on it.

I use a damp towel, and never allow the seats to get so nasty that I would NEED to use a cleaner. I've had the car for over a year now, 7,000 miles, and the driver's seat is as-new, just like the rear seats that have never been sat in.
A gentle wipe with a damp towel after you've finish washing and drying your exterior is a great way just to stay ahead of it, so your seats will stay perpetually spotless, rather than neglecting them for months on-end, and then attacking them with soaps or chemicals.
Even the good stuff worries me, not with regard to the leather, but the STITCHING. Cleaners are terrible for the thread, they soak into it and stay there, eventually rotting it or eating it. And you don't know whether the product you're using is harmful long-term until it's too late.
You can't go wrong with H2O, and if your seats are so filthy that water won't cut it, you need to re-evaluate your upkeep habits (or possibly your personal hygiene habits?? LOL!!)![]()
