Herbaliser:
A 720S and a Performante demo cars recently arrived at the dealers in Munich and Stuttgart so in two weeks I am going to test drive them one after the other next to the 488. It is going to be like a small first impressions test.
The practical questions that I'd like to get answers to are:
- How hardcore is the Lambo vs. the GT3 RS which is the maximum I can tolerate on public roads.
- The engine sound and traction of the McLaren vs. the 488 which has the best ESP I've experienced and to me sounds just perfect.
If the Performante has the same ESP setup as the standard Huracan, there will be no issues. With AWD, traction is limitless but we careful when you play around with the ESP (I would leave ESP turned on when using a demo car...).
I drive my R8 in Performance mode DRY with ESP active(!). Wonderful sporty/aggressive setup, probably not very comfortable (shifting is jerky but friggin fast) and with higher fuel consumption. I assume that you can do the same in the Huracan Performante (sportiest driving mode but with ESP turned on!).
I assume you can switch the Performante to a pretty comfortable mode (my R8 feels like a A8 sedan when driving in Comfort mode, unbelievable), so no worries here.
If you can afford it, get the Performante, the GT3 RS, the 488 and the 720S. All four! Perfect combo.
